My favorite look: L’Oreal’s Infallible in Golden Emerald all over the lid, Maybelline’s Colour Pot in Violet/Purple in the V and blended with the L’Oreal in the outer 1/3, UD’s Rockstar in the crease to contour and define. NARS Riviera Multiple (medium pink like Mata Hari) sheered out on the browbone. UD’s Perversion on the top lashline, and UD’s Delinquent (purple) eyeshadow pencil in the lower, outer corners of the lashline. Black mascara from NYX that I actually am quite impressed by. It lengthens and separates lashes a lot, does not clump at all, and was a fantastic price.

Face was MUFE HD foundation in 127, NARS Riviera as blush, then MUFE finishing powder and Revlon Lip Butter in Lollipop. The L’Oreal Infallible in Golden Emerald is really impressive and absolutely stunning. And, though it got a bad review, the Maybelline Tattoo Pot is a lovely, lovely violet purple. I had a lady remark on both eyeshadows while I was standing in line to return something at the supermarket customer service section. When I told her what they were and that I’d bought them in the store, she left the line to go find them and buy them for herself!

Kafka- Your look sounds so fun!

Christine: does this mean you’ll be doing a review on what you wore for this look? If so, I’m looking forward to it!

      • Kafka

Thank you, Maggie! I love combining greens and purples but that L’Oreal Infallible really made it and did all the work for me! If you don’t have it, and if you like greens, you should definitely consider it. :)

After hearing about your look, I DID end up purchasing the Golden Emerald shadow. Thanks for sharing. =D

          • Kafka

Wow, really?! That’s such a lovely surprise, Maggie, and so amazing. Thank you for letting me know. It’s incredibly sweet of you. :)(That said, all credit really goes to Christine for introducing it to us in the first place.) I hope you love the colour/texture as much as I do and that you will share any looks you do with it. *massive hug*

I know you’re not loving the Smoldering Plum, but have you tried it with the Golden Emerald? IMO, the green pulls the red from SP, as they are opposites on the color wheel.

OT, Milani has a polish called Sparkling Silver that is seriously calling your name! I don’t know what the quality is like, but it is a deep blue-silver, with intense shimmer, but not quite microshimmer, and definitely not glitter. I don’t know, when I saw it, you immediately came to mind. I was going to take a pic, but my phone battery was almost dead.

Amy, I did try those two together but I really wasn’t very impressed with Smoldering Plum. I’m contemplating returning it, in fact. It’s much more brown than what I had expected or had seen in the swatches. (The latter point is probably a monitor issue.) Also, I actually think the UD Rockstar actually is more intense, more shimmery, & a touch more eggplant in tone. It just popped more, esp. next to the Golden Emerald.

My new love though is the Infallible in Midnight Blue. I wore it today with Night Porter (Navy) in the creases and V, a silver eyeliner on top and a fine line of UD’s Mary Jane on the lower lash line on top of black eyeliner. It was such a spectacular look, my mother just kinda gasped when she saw me at lunch and said, “Wow! What is that?!” (And she rarely does that.) If you’re missing Midnight Blue from your collection, you should seriously get it — even if you don’t wear dark blue/navy often. It’s really a magnificent shade. I think I may like it even more than the Golden Emerald! You could wear it with some of the greys from Dogon, Melusine or that smoky taupe shade from Rajasthan, with all your purples, or with some golden caramels.

I will definitely check out that Milani. Thank you. It sounds right up my alley. You know my colours so well! ♥

What a beautiful look, Christine. Suites you perfect.

I nearly just wore my Armani foundation, MACs Blanc Type eye shadow, black mascara and Rouge d’Armani Sheers 301 or Chanel Rouge Coco Shine in Aventure on the lips.

  3. Ana G.

Face: Prolongwear concealer and Lingerie de Peau foundation, My Paradise blush
Eyes: UD primer potion, making it easy trio from MAC (the lighter shade all over the lid and the second lighter on the crease, just to create some depth) and Maybelline falsies mascara
Lips: Mac lip primer and Watch me Simmer lipstick.

  4. This is gorgeous–it actually makes me want to bring out all my Infallibles and play around with them, even though I haven’t touched them since reviewing them 😛

  5. Allison

Could you give more detail as to where each color is? So gorgeous!!!!

Beautiful!. I did a look this week using L’oreal Amber Rush too. I also mixed UD’s Naked and Buck in the crease and applied Bobbi Brown Gel liner in Caviar Ink on the upper waterline. I topped it off with my favorite mascara, L’oreal Million Lashes.

Face: L’oreal True match foundation and concealer, Coty Airspun powder

Cheeks: MAC Pinch Me Blush, Nars Irresistiblement bronzer

Lips: Nars Velvet Matte pencil in Dolce Vita

It was a pretty simple and quick look.

Liz, do you mind me asking what skin tone/shade you are and how the Irrestiblement Bronzer appears on you? I’ve had my eye on it for a while but I don’t know if it would be too orange-y on me. I’ve read conflicting stories about whether it’s terracotta or not. Some say it’s the perfect bronzer for pale skin because it’s NOT too bronze-y or orange, but the repeated use of the word “terracotta” makes me wonder. I’m an olive but I’m looking for a pale bronzer that’s not really… um… bronze-y. LOL!

It’s so weird that in Canada, some of the Infallibles are available and have the same name but others are not. I really wanted to get Iced Latte and was sure I’d seen it but I must have been imagining things as I can’t find it anywhere and it’s not shown on the Canadian site. I’ve been going to yoga almost every day for the past few weeks and to the gym as well so makeup has been at a minimum but on Thursday, I took my mother in law out for lunch and wore MAC Sweet Satisfaction on my lids, with Centre Stage in the outer V and Gosh Metallic Brass pencil to “smudge-line” upper and lower lashes. I dug around in my pan of Dame blush so I could wear that, and wore my new Nars Como lip gloss.

  8. t_zwiggy

My favorite was a very simple look with Burberry Pale Barley on the inner third of the lid and Burberry Midnight Brown on the outer two thirds and lower lash line, MAC Blanc Type as a highlight. Tarte Amused blush. Cle de Peau Extra Silky 129 on lips.

  9. Iliana

I wore MAC’s Lithe pigment (HG forever for my very Southeast Asian complexion) all over the lids, MAC Blacktrack eyeliner, mascara, nude liner on bottom waterline, Body Shop bronzer around the face, MAC Melba blush on the apples of my cheeks, MAC Chatterbox lipstick and Revlon Nude Luster gloss. I thought the look was fresh and not over the top so I liked it!
