What we're Wearing

My favorite look this week was… Dior Golden Savannah Eyeshadow Palette, Burberry Trench Eyeshadow, Tarina Tarantino Glamorous Thief Eyeliner with Le Metier de Beaute Goldstone Eyeshadow blended over and underneath the lash line.

What was your favorite look you wore this week?  Share yours in the comments! :)

P.S. — Apologies for the photo quality; took it while on vacation, so I only had my awful point and shoot, which is probably just awful because I have no idea how to use it ;) ** Still true for this look, too!

  1. Lovely quality photo and I’m shocked it is from a point and shoot.. they just keep getting better and better.  This palette is very pretty, but reminds me ever so much of my Guerlain rue de Passy palette, but perhaps it is a little more on the warmer side…  but this is creepy weird part..  I wore the rue de Passy palette yesterday and I haven’t used it in quite awhile! So, I’m not going to reiterate my look, because it is actually somewhat similar to yours only I used NARS Mekong as a liner since it also has not received any love lately and we discussed it this very week only I winged this ‘liner’ a la cleopatra.  Cheeks = Tom Ford Frantic Pink and Lips = Tom Ford Spanish Pink.  This TF lip and blush look phenomenal together.

Actually I am really pleased with todays look. It’s just a slight modification of my basic everyday look and I think I have a new favorite go to look, at least for a bit.

Face: Mac Pro longwear foundation in NC 25 (I am not digging this foundation all that much, but it’s not bad at all, It tends to grab on my dry patches but it does have great coverage, I think I just have to moisturize good before application.
    Mac Blush in Melba
    Mac MIneralize skinfinish Light Year

Eyes: Stila kitten on lid, Mac Malt in crease, Mac Swiss chocolate blended in the outer third, A dark brown black from a nyx palette just accenting the outer v, (not sure what it is called but it really) but this is my new go to for a bit more definition. Mac Vanilla on my brow bone, and Mary Loumanizer in the inner corner swept up just slightly.
I defined the bottom of my eye with Malt, and Swiss chocolate.

Lips: Just my go to Buxom Lips Amber lipgloss. I recently gave away pretty much all my lip products as I find I rarely use lip products and am not really into touching it up throughout the day. So at least that’s one less thing I will be buying from now on.

I wore just my Orchid Rose blush ( Chanel ) and Rouge Coco in Etole. Today I wore Marie-Galante from Nars and nothing else. On my nails, well I tried many nail polishes again, Orly Halley’s comet with a Nfu Oh 54, Nars Diamond life with Nfu Oh 54 ( not so bad ), that’s it.

  4. Hi Christine,
I love that deep plummy taupe in the crease, love love love it, which color is it from the ones you stated? Reminds me of Smashbox Minx, which I love and have multiples of! :-)
I wore a look using the Manish Arora Palette this week, with Bitter and Going Bananas, my picture came out too dark because I also am not master of my new camera yet! :-) If you want to have a look, here it is:

Very pretty colors that really accentuate your eye color.

  6. I have been trying to use more pinks and purples: Jesse’s Girl Eye Dust in Ultraviolet (lid), UD Sting (crease and above crease), WnW Lust palette Dark Purple (outer v), & the Pale Pink shade (browbone). I finished up with black gel liner and mascara. Lips: Revlon Lip Butter in Pink Truffle.

  7. Nesita

This look is gorgeous, Christine! =D I need a blue eyeliner to try to recreate it when I go out next week.

  8. I can only wish my point and shoot camera would take pictures like this. :)

  9. OOO I can’t wait for you to review Savannah! Golden Jungle’s coming out in Taiwan next Friday, and I’m going to the launch event. Need some info to know what I can buy!

  10. Beautiful look. It matches your eyes beautifully!

  11. I love the Tarina Tarantino liner and gold eyeshadow accent. So cute! My favorite look was a sugarpill look this week. I used Mochi, Velocity, Afterparty, Tako and a bit of Tarina Tarantino Pure Opal.

I have to laugh at your definition of “awful picture quality”. Most people can’t ever take anything that damn clear!

  13. Cat G

Pretty pretty!! Love the blue eyeliner, I would never think it would work as well as it does!

My favorite look this week was…

  15. Miss J

I love everything about this look! I so wish my brows had the shape yours do here!

As for my favorite look this week? Yesterday or today’s, which was lots of NARS Outlaw, lol.

  16. corallista

I love how you add a pop of color on the waterline on a neutral look!

My favorite look this week was a black smokey eye with a touch of gold and a natural deep peach lip. I used Shiseido Shimmering Cream eye color in BK912 (black with flecks of green shimmer) topped with Inglot body sparkles 56 (reflects gold), MAC Ambering Rose as blush and mixed 2 lipsticks to get the desired shade.

Definitely one of my favorite looks! Beautiful!

  18. Mariella

Christine, will you be reviewing the Savannah palette any time soon? It looks gorgeous on you.  Which brings me to a question I keep meaning to ask. Not sure if you’ve already answered this so I’m sorry if it’s a tiresome question but why did you stop doing video/youtube tutorials?  I loved the ones you did way back – you were always so precise in your information and you always got in nice and close so I could really see what you were doing.  Yours were some of the best tutorial on youtube – particularly your eye look tutorials.

    •  @Mariella Hi Mariella!

I can’t say when, but I hope to review it.

I stopped doing them because readers/viewers told me they weren’t good and that I was wasting my time by doing them – so since the majority felt that way, we felt we better do things that the majority was more receptive to.

      • Mariella

@Christine (Temptalia) Seriously?  That is insane. Your tutorials were among the most detailed and simple (if that makes sense) – simple because the instructions were so clear.  I still refer back to your early ones for neutral eyes and work appropriate looks as well as a few of the others.  You should poll your readers again (I clearly missed this being discussed when it was) – I bet you will find a huge majority would love to see you doing tutorials again and I am very judicious when it comes to betting! (vbg).  Good to know you’ll be reviewing the Dior Savannah. It looks so desirable but – as always – I can’t help wondering how “dupe-able” the colours might be!

    •  @Mariella And thank you! It’s nice to hear they are missed :)

    • corallista

       @Mariella I second that!

@Christine (Temptalia) I love your reviews and they super helpful but I miss the tutorials and looks ! I have gone back to your archives like a million times to check out the looks you’ve done in the past. I especially love how you work with greens! I’ve often wondered why you stopped.

      • Mariella

@corallista  I’ve done the same. I think some of the tutorials are 3 or more years old but they are so good that they haven’t gone “out of style” at all and are so instructional!

  19. Beautiful, that’s a great look!

I experimented with a new sparkly copper eyeshadow this week. I didn’t really like it on my lids, but today I mixed it with a bit of matte white and used it to highlight the inner corner of my eye and I love it!

  20. claudiachavez

This look is absolutely gorgeous! It definitely brings out the color of your eyes!

  21. soleil

    What mascara did you use?

  22. That eye look is gorgeous! I’m a huge fan of the blue (which is rare for me, actually!). My favorite look this week was a neutral, shimmery smoky eye (MAC Painterly PP, MAC Bare Study PP, UD Sin, UD YDK in crease) with dark green liner (can’t remember the brand…it’s a new sample!) — I’ve never had a green liner and was experimenting! I ended up really loving it. I wore NARS Deep Throat on my cheeks and kept my lips bare, as far as I can remember.
