What we're Wearing

My favorite look this week was… Guerlain Les Fauves Eyeshadow Palette, Burberry Trench Eyeshadow, Tarina Tarantino Spark of Envy Eyeliner with Le Metier de Beaute Goldstone Eyeshadow blended over and underneath the lash line.

What was your favorite look you wore this week?  Share yours in the comments! :)

P.S. — Apologies for the photo quality; took it while on vacation, so I only had my awful point and shoot, which is probably just awful because I have no idea how to use it ;)

  1. Oooh, the gold and soft red look great together! Makes me want to try out softer colors myself. I usually wear darker shades. Right now I’m wearing a shimmery dark olive eyeshadow on the lid, fading to black in the outer corner of the eye, with a golden highlight at the inner corner of the eye. But tomorrow I’m going with gold along the lower lash line, this picture inspired me :-)

This week I used my Illusions d’Ombre, in illusoire, mirifique ( gorgeous black shimmery eyeshadow ! ), I love the texture, they wear long it’s a remarquable product from Chanel I must say. I tried the new M.A.C MES from Heavenly Creature, just great both of them ( bright moon and sky ). I purchased a lot of nail polishes ( Orly, Nfu Oh, China Glaze ) glad to have them here in France ! Next time I will try and purchase 2 polishes from Deborah Lippmann. On my toes ( feet ) I am currently wearing Essie Tour de finance, nothing on the hands I will do my manicure tonight.

I wouldn’t think of pairing these colors together but you make it work!

My favorite look this week was a gold-green eye makeup with a peach lip/cheek -

  4. No apologies needed..that’s freaking beautifull, Christine!  I ended up ordering the LMDB goldstone shadow from Saks after seeing your other similar look from last week.  And yes, that same look inspired me for my favourite look this week which is a really pretty rosy goldy eye:Eyes:  Base of MAC cream colour base in NUDE.  All over lid in Illamasqua DIZZY (Feint works really well too, but it is a bit darker and earthier rose).  Crease in Nars WINDSTAR duo the gold shade.  Lower lash line and outer vee in Illamasqua FORGIVENESS, touch of Illamasqua ANTIQUE on mid lid, highlight in Illamasqua STEALTH, and finally inside corner of eye diffused up towards eyebrow with MAC pigment in VANILLA.  Oh, do not be deterred by what appears to be a dark muted shades, Forgiveness, as it really does not appear stark or dark even on my light/medium neutral skintones.

    Cheek:  Illamasqua THRUST

Lip:  Okay, so I really find OCC lip tar ROCKS :)  and so I mixed two shades together DIGITALIS and DIVINE and got a really lovely bright pink .. I would say a more matte, vibrant and warmer version of MAC snob.

Finishing Touch:  Guerlain Terracotta Light Sheer Bronzing Powder in 01 BLONDES.  It’s sheer with a hint of shimmer and pink tones mixed in with the bronzing tones.  I love it!

Thanks again, Christine for the inspiration!  ..or should I say I kinda ripped off your look AGAIN!

Nothing fancy, because of the heat and humidity and general “sweat box” feel any time I step outside my door. Mineral powder foundation over SPF for sure. On my eyes, I have relied on UDPP EVERY day, usually with MAC Unbasic White washed lightly over my upper lids from lash to brow and then MAC Sweet Satisfaction on the lid and a bit more intensely in the crease.  MUFE liner pencil in black, either smudged into my lashes or to tightline (which I prefer). Tarte Natural Beauty on my cheeks and MAC Lustering on my lips.

  6. oooh you got Les Fauves!! I’ve been eyeing this one since I first saw the promo pics. It’s so pretty on you!

  7. Ah come on the photo isn’t awful! Les Fauves looks promising!

This week my favorite look was done with Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill 25. It was a simple look, just 25 all over my lids, and a light shade to highlight my inner corners. Finished off with eyeliner and mascara. One of the things that makes me appreciate ETKs so much is how fast they can give you a glam look, and how well the medium-to-dark shades work alone!

    I really like the gold!
    - my favorite look this week was one for a photo shoot! My eyes has nyx e/s pencil in milk all over my eyes. The I used Mac digit as my highlight, Mac beautiful iris on my inner half of my lid, a random lilac purple from the cs 88 palette on the outer half, Mac parfait amour blended through the crease and Mac Indian ink to define my crease, and for lower lash liner. Winged black liner on top and mascara to finish!

I love the color on your waterline with the goldstone.. how beautiful!  I wish I could put together and pull off color like that..

Wow! I would not have thought one would use it in a wedding look. Thank you for sharing, Christine Hoffmaster! :)

  11. Christine Hoffmaster

Hey Christine!! I used Jealousy Wakes on a bride today!!! It was gorgeous and she loved the color!!! Just wanted to share!

  12. Kristabelle

Ooh I am jealous of how good that lid color looks on you, it’d make me look ill or like i’ve been crying lol.

My favorite look this week was super simple- lots of that lately, since I’ve been working so much. Can’t wait to get back to bright colors and smoky eyes when I have some time off next week!

Eyes- tfsi, mix of UD Sidecar and Sin on the lid, UD Naked in the crease, touch of UD Darkhorse in the outer crease. A touch of UD Virgin in the browbone/inner corner. Black liquid liner on the top lid, UD Naked worked under the outer half of the lower lashline, lots of mascara.
I liked how big it made my eyes look.
Lips- NYX gloss in beige (such a pretty pink!)

Honestly, I see no real difference between your Point-and-Shoot photo and the ones taken with your sophisticated, expensive camera. In fact, I’m rather in awe of what a good shot you took. Even using a Macro setting, I’ve never managed something as good, clear and precise on myself. Please tell me that someone else took that photo of you so that I feel less incompetent?! LOL
Silly question: do you find it makes a difference either in look or longevity if you put the eyeliner on first followed then by the eyeshadow on top of it or below it, or none at all?
My favorite look was a very Spring-like one, I think:  MUFE Aqua  #6 (medium-pale baby powder pink with an almost imperceptible gold sheen) all over the lid and brow bone,  UD’s Mary Jane (silver blue) in outer 1/2 and the crease, NARS Daphne (dark purple) in the V and outer corners, then NARS Himalayas (opal white) to blend and on the brow bone. Lower lashline had Mary Jane (also on the waterline) and then Daphne in the outer third. Face was just a Shiseido tinted moisturizer, then a faint application of Paula Dorff’s Ballet blush and Benefit Dandelion powder.  MUFE #6 on the lips with balm over it.  I think MUFE #6 is probably my favorite pink ever and it’s so versatile, too. It’s really a shame they no longer carry it at Sephora (or, at least, they just stopped at my local Sephora).

    •  @Kafka Ahhh, the point&shoot photo is more overblown and needed far more color-correcting than any photo ought to need!

It totally depends on the eyeliner, since some last the same no matter what and others that aren’t as good are helped by adding powder on/over. Over the eyeliner is going to help the wear more than likely, since you’re taking a cream product and setting it with a powder!

@Christine (Temptalia)  Thank you, for both explanations! And I totally hear you on the colour-correcting with a point-and-shoot! But I’m still amazed at the quality of the photos that you managed to take of *yourself* with just a tiny camera, no tripod, no remote, etc. etc.  Remarkable.  BTW, this “Spark of Envy” eyeliner is stunning! I’m *so* checking out TT’s eyeliners because of you!
