What we're Wearing

My favorite look this week was…  MAC Magnetic Attraction, Aurora, Water Mineraelize Eyeshadows; Burberry Trench Eyeshadow (highlight).  Now, I was underwhelmed by the quality, but I like the combo — very earthy.

  1. I love how this looks on you! Again you managed to put just the right colors together. Very interesting!
This week my favorite look is: Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill #14 for the inner half, Rouge Bunny Rouge Abyssinian Catbird for the outer half, Tarte Blissful on my cheeks, and Guerlain Rouge Automatique in Nahema on my lips. I’m so happy that I finally own Abyssinian Catbird (been wanting this shade for AGES) and Nahema. It’s flattering and easy to wear for my skin tone!

Today M.A.C soft sable lipstick ( I worship Glitter and Ice collection ) and a waterproof Cargo bronzer, yesterday it was Two Faced peach leopard which I really love too. I also tried my Orly and Zoya  nail polishes again in Beach cruiser ( Orly ) and Lara ( Zoya ). It was really a nail polish week : I also tried Essie Love and acceptance, Essie Olé Caliente, Peggy Sage Candy pink. I wore a difficult combination on toes feet : Essie metallics ( one colour on each nail ) but it didn’t look so good, so I put a glitter polish from OPI. Removing that kind of thing was really tough !
    That’s all !

Like the soft earthy shades. Have u filled out your brows with a shimmery shade Christine? I think I see some glimmer at the arch there!
My favorite look this week was a soft gold eye with Illamasqua Ore, bronzed cheeks with a pop of warm pink on the apples with Illamasqua Hussy and a hot pink lip with Illamasqua Eurydice! I love contrasting hot pinks with warm bronzed skin!

I went all spring-y, as inspired by the Sugarpill colours that everyone seems to talk about, with yellow, chartreuse and purples.  I wore MUFE 71 (“Sunflower” yellow) on the inner 1/3 of the eye; in the middle and outer eye MUFE 57 (which is a shimmery chartreuse but which, very oddly, shows up in your archives and elsewhere as a totally diff. colour — a pale minty olive. Mine is old and was bought in Paris, so they had to have changed the numbers/colours since then.). In the crease, MUFE Aqua Cream #26 (dark purple) and to blend, MUFE #9 (lilac purple). On the upper eyelash line, UD 24/7 pencil in Ransom (purple). On the lower eye, the MUFE 26 in purple, then right on the eyelash line, UD 24/7 in Woodstock (electric pink). Black mascara.  NARS Copacabana as a highlighter on the cheekbones (but worn under the foundation, so it’s really imperceptible) and Illamasqua’s pink-coral lipstick, Scandal. (Which I absolutely hate in texture and which is the only lipstick I’ve ever found to be super drying, but the colour is simply stunning. Il faut suffrir pour être belle. <grin>)

Because it was so warm last week, I mostly wore MAC Studio Fix Powder Foundation, MUFE Aqua Shadow in E20, black mascara and a nude lipstick (YSL Tea Rose) or gloss (MAC Babysparks, Nars Orgasm).

That looks beautiful! That’s a shame the quality of the eyeshadows is so poor…
Anyways, this week I wore make up three time and my favorite look was:
Face: Benefit’s porefessional, MAC Prolongwear foundation, Mac Studio sculp concealer, MSF, Tarte blissful blush, mac superb.
Eyes: Nubile, Bourjouis black eyeliner (as a black base), Naked 2’s Blackout (lid), Mac Expresso(crease), Naked’s Buck (to blend out), Naked 2’s Foxy and Bootycall (mixed together as my brow highlighter), Beige eyeliner (waterline) and Loreal telescopic.
    Lips: Mac sexy reel

  7. That’s a lovely look on you, but I’ll bet that you can find a bunch of shadows that do the same sort of thing, just with a better formula.
My favourite look this week was using Chanel’s “Sable Emouvante” duo with Nars “Torrid” on my cheeks and Mac’s “Prrr” lip glass. Super-simple but really worked.

I dug out my MAC palette this week and this was my favorite look I got from it: Satin Taupe on the lid, All That Glitters in the crease to warm up the look, Blanc Type as a brow highlight, and Naked Lunch as an inner corner highlight. I then used a dark grey pencil to create a bit of a smokey liner on the top and bottom and added two coats of mascara. It turned out to be a fun day time smokey eye.

All that Glitters on the lld, naked from the naked palette in the crease for a work day look:)

I love, love, love this eye makeup application. I’m afraid I lack the talent to apply it so well tho.  High admiration!

  11. MartiH

beautiful Christine.  I like your light touch with this too.  Its too hot for heavy looks.

  12. Veronica

Face:  Sephora brand tinted moisturizer, Too Faced mattifying powder to set (it’s 90F here D:), NARS Angelika blush on cheeks
Eyes:  Stila Breeze on lid, Stila Freesia on the crease, theBalm Matt Gallagher on outer corner going into crease, Stila Chinois on crease.  (Stila shades from the In the Garden palette, theBalm from the Meet Matt[e] palette)  Maybelline Stiletto on lashes.

  13. I love this combination! Looks great with the contrasting warm and cool tones!

  14. freshpinklips

My favorite look this week is MAC Naked Lunch inner 1/3, dusted Da Bling in the middle of the lid and finally Satin Taupe in the outer corner and crease. Bobbi Brown gel liner and some mascara. MAC Angel on the lips and Milani illuminating face powder in pink (forgot what it’s called). We went to a a kiddie carnival so I thought to play with pink today.

  15. My favorite look this week was with the Emerald Pretty Palette (Tarina Tarantino) and Darling Girl Cosmetics, Fyrinnae Cosmetics, BftE Cosmetics and Sugarpill.

I used Ozma (blue-based teal) on the lid, Darling Girl Prancer (a plush olive) in the crease, Fyrinnae Damn Paladins (a taupe with blue highlight) in the upper crease, Glinda’s Kiss (white-gold) at the inner v, Silver Shoes (deep grey) along the lower lash line, outer corner of the lid and the outer crease. I highlighted with BftE Glistening. LOVE how this looks!

This week, I worked too much to spend a lot of time coming up with creative makeup ideas, I just picked a concept and stuck with it. Most of the week I wore-
Eyes- MAC Naked pigment on the lid, UD Naked in the crease, MAC Charcoal Brown slightly lower in the crease. Tiny bit of UD Virgin as highlight, little bit of Charcoal Brown worked under the lower lashline. Black liquid liner on the top lid, Ardell Demi-wispies lashes.
I switched it up throughout the week with different cheek colors, sometimes lining my inner rims, switching to a pink lip (was usually nude) and so on.

  17. Angela C

This is a gorgeous look on you!  What are you using to line your inner lower lid?  (I know there’s another term for it but I can’t think of it!)  Thanks!

  18. Mariella

We were away for a few days and I didn’t feel like taking a lot of makeup (I knew I’d be buying!!!) so I took the TF Natural Eye palette and one liner. The whole time, I went with Silk Teddy on the lid (over MAC Painterly as a base/primer) with Push Up on the outer half of the lid and Sexpresso in the crease and smudged under my lower lashes. I used Heaven as a highlight under the brow and wore MAC Dollymix on my cheeks and (big surprise) Plumful on my lips.  It has been insanely hot and humid here so my MAC Blot powder got a good workout too!

  19. t_zwiggy

Eyes: MAC Sweet&Punchy (inner 1/3), MAC Lucky Green (outer 2/3), MAC Flourishing (crease and lower lash line) and MAC Chamomile (highlight)
    Cheeks: Tom Ford Lovelust
    Lips: MAC Cut-a-Caper

  20. Do you ever get obsessed with one colour and then do looks with it all week?  That would be me this week.  I must say I am super impressed with my Guerlain bronzing powder.  It’s so subtle, it gives me just the right amount of colour to look healthy and not like a slutty orangey tanned hot mess (did I say that out loud?).  Anyhow, nothing looks better with brown than blue in my world so this week was all about MUFE #72 – Matte Vibrant Turquoise.  I freaking LURVE this colour~  I did a variety of looks, but my fav would be just a simple eye with my usual TF cream colour in platinum as a base and then illamasqua Forgiveness–a rich chocolate plum, but on me it looks more like a medium rose–in the crease and a bright and heavy and thick application of the aforementioned #72 along my bottom lashes and winged out and illamasqua Stealth as a highlighter.  I also put a touch of Illamasqua Vintage along my top lash line as it really makes my eyes sparkle.
Great summer goddess colour and super flattering on my skintone ~

    Lips: MAC Red Racer
