What we're Wearing

My favorite look this week was…  Nothing! It’s been a really bad week (personally), so I’ve strictly been testing products for wear, but I haven’t been creating or wearing any cohesive looks, LOL!

Oh no, well I hope your next week is better Christine!

This is the look I wore for my school orientation, I think it looked nice!
Eyes: Mac Painterly Paint Pot, UD Sin (bought it before their announcement so I figure I might as well still use the products I own!!) with super shimmery Palladdio loose eyeshadow along the lash line. Don’t remember which mascara, probably Clinique High Impact.
Face: MUFE HD foundation, Mac Nude on Board Pro Longwear Bronzing Powder
    Cheeks: Prescriptive’s Pompeii blush
Lips: Philosophy Vanilla Birthday Cake Lip Shine

  4. Mine was Stila Caramel PP, MAC Soba & Woodwinked (lid), MAC Charcoal Brown (outer v), UD Lust liner (upper and lower lashlines), Maybelline Pulse Perfection mascara, MAC Ricepaper on browbone and Revlon Lip Butter in Pink Truffle on lips. I wanted to take a photo of it for the blog, but the stupid lighting wouldn’t cooperate.

I tried many eyeshadows I have already and just bought : NARS Outremer ( gorgeous but chalky and difficult to apply ), NARS Tropic, a very pretty shimmering blue, some SEPHORA mono eyeshadows and CHANEL Variation quad ( subtle and perfectly goes well with the Illusions d’Ombre, I chose Variation rather than Intuition because Intuition includes a golden eyeshadow, a colour I don’t like very much ). On my cheeks, either nothing at all or Chanel Rose Ecrin, Benefit Hervana. On the lips ? Either nothing or Rouge Coco Charme, a MUFE natural lipstick ( pale rose ). Nails ? Chanel Frisson or toes Essie Tour de finance ( just tried it because am not wearing summer shoes yet ! I love this nail polish, so pink and bright ! )

First off, I’m so sorry you’ve had such an awful week Christine. I hope everything gets better and you remember that your readers all care for you and would love to be able to help!

For graduation yesterday, I wore this simple and natural look as my dress was a really beautiful but bright mint color!
EYES- UDPP, MAC All That Glitters on the lid, MAC Soba in the crease, MAC Once Upon A Time (LE) in the inner corner, UD Demolition 24/7 eye pencil on the upper lash line, Maybelline Waterproof One by One Mascara (I cried, and this mascara stayed on! Yes!)
CHEEKS- Kimara Ahnert Hypo-Allergenic blush in Cameo, Benefit Highbeam
LIPS- Dior Addict Ultra Gloss in 654 Pink Veil

  9. Kristabelle

In the interest of doing something different, I’ve been trying to simplify my makeup looks a little. (It’s a lot harder than it sounds!) My favorite was a simple smoky eye I came up with for a date.
Eyes- TFSI, UD Naked as crease blending color, UD Hustle all over lid and blended out into crease. A touch of UD Darkhorse in the outer V. A tiny bit of UD Virgin under the browbone and on the inner corners. Black liner on the outer halves of the lashlines and inner rims, smudged with Darkhorse. Darkhorse blended into Naked under the eye, black mascara.
    Lips- theBalm Mai Billsbepaid
Face- too faced primed and poreless, MUFE HD foundation, Kat Von D tattoo concealer, maybelline dream matte powder, Benefit Hoola to contour, theBalm Frat Boy blush, theBalm Mary Lou-manizer to highlight.

  10. Mariella

Quick and easy: Chanel Ebloui on lid and into crease. Black pencil liner on lash lines and to tightline my upper lids. I think I might have put Stila Starlight on the brow bone but I can’t remember. MAC Dollymix blush and Plumful lipstick. I want to use it up so I’ve been using MAC Matte as a primer and Laura Mercier mineral powder foundation (can’t get quicker and easier than that) and MAC Pro Longwear Concealer which is my “fall back” concealer.

  11. Rachel

Eyes – UD primer potion, MAC Naked Lunch on inner lid, All that Glitters on outer half and the crease, Brule as a highlight,  Teddy eye kohl, Fresh Supernova mascara.
Lips – MAC In Synch lip pencil, YSL lipstick #1, MAC Fashion Scoop cremesheen lipgloss
Face – MUFE HD primer, Laura Mercier tinted moisturizer, MUFE full cover concealer, MUFE HD powder, Nars Laguna bronzer, Nars Orgasm blush

    Its very neutral and pretty(:

  12. Joanna

hope this week is better for you Christine!

I’ve only done simple and boring looks lately :P I only wore makeup twice this week, same look both times. MAC Expensive Pink on lid, MAC Kid in the crease and MAC Concrete in the outer v and along the lower lashline. NARS Laguna bronzer and Guerlain Terra Inca powder to give my cheeks a nice glow. Julie Hewett Simone on lips.

  14. Thank you everyone! Fingers crossed next week is better :)

While I didn’t really put any cohesive looks together this week (that are worth noting), I have spent the last few days doing some random things with NARS duos in Rajasthan, Dogon, & Tzarine; all three mix/match beautifully, but I think my favorite pairing so far is the peacock shade from Rajasthan with the lighter shade of Dogon. If NARS would only put all three duos into one palette… I still haven’t tried any highlight shades, though, with any of these.

I’m sorry it’s been such a rough week. :( Maybe this will make you smile, as it makes me think of Mellan in that bath photo of yours: http://dogs.icanhascheezburger.com/2012/05/01/funny-dog-pictures-too-late/

Favorite Look this week: nothing. I’ve been experimenting and playing around with diff. things I recently got: my new Copacabana Multiple (love!), the NARS Tinted Moisturizer in St. Moritz, a NARS Sheer Glow sample vs the Laura Mercier foundation sample, but mainly, the Eurydice eyeshadow. I’m trying to find the best way to bring out the faint iridescent blue tinge in the purple shade but the MUFE AquaBlack I just bought to go with it is too dark I think. And my other cream shadows are too light.

  18. I’ve been so lazy this week with eye looks. I’ve actually just been trying to find the best foundation/powder/bronzed look that makes my skin look flawless, but natural!

  19. Veronica

I’m sorry you’re having such a bad week.  I’m sure having to moderate the Urban Decay debacle in the middle of everything going on this week didn’t help you stress-wise, either.  I hope everything clears up soon for you!

Most of my makeup was really basic this week, but I put together a look I loved on Monday -

Lips:  Revlon Lip Butter in Strawberry Shortcake
Face:  Sephora brand tinted moisturizer in Nude, Maybelline cream mousse blush in Rose Petal mixed with Revlon Blushing Berry, Too Faced pressed powder (to mattify everything)
Eyes:  Stila Bark on lid, Stila Juniper in outer corner runing into the crease*, theBalm’s Matt Horowitz on the crease**, theBalm’s Matt Smith on the inner corner**, Urban Decay Virgin on brow, Tarina Tarantino Puppeteer on lower lash line, and Maybelline Stilletto on lashes
[*Stila In the Garden palette, **theBalm Meet Matt(e) palette]

Now I get to spend my weekend figuring out what character-based makeup I’m going to dork up with to see Avengers 3D with my friend.  The Hulk?  Thor?  Iron Man?  Black Widow?  DECISIONS, DECISIONS.

    3. bare mineral loose powder eyeshadow in # celestine: use Mac 217 to blend out the harsh edge at socket line with this colour.

i was playing around with eyeshadow last week and this week…

i have a palette from lancome (colour design sensational eyes 7 colour palette) which i got as a freebie in February when i visited family in Australia (i think its been discontinued as a result i don’t use it very often) been playing with blending black with slivers (slivers being base and black in the outer edges) together also been trying blues/purples and various combinations in between as well

i am normally a neutrals kind of girl but i want to branch out  to bright colours/darker shadows because i will never know if they would work with my skin tone if i don’t try them out… i have been to afraid to try until now…

  24. I got jiggy with the Sugarpill Heart Breaker palette.  I was stunned at how wonderful these shadows looked on me given their unbelievable brightness in the pan, but they just worked and I even got approval from the Man who eschews anything bright and equates it with tacky.  I started with a base of MAC Grain and then Eyelid in the mid blue (2 a.m.) up to crease and blended out to just above crease.  Inside corner in OCC Datura and added a bit of the purple (acidberry) on inside third to half above crease. On the half to outside above crease, I added the green (mochi) and topped with a bit of OCC foxfire for some glimmer.  I lined my eyes bottom and top with MUFE matte navy, #60 and touched up the outer corners top and bottom for more definition and winged out the liner.  Finished with the highlighter from the new Illamasqua naked palette.  Blush = Illamasqua Naked rose and Lip = Guerlain G in Gabrielle (light rosey pink).  The overall look was much softer than I expected and I will definitely wear it again.

  25. Very sorry to hear that you had a rough week. Hope that things are brighter in the coming one!

Although I’m suffering through some allergies and still adjusting to the recycled air in the office, I was quite happy with the way one look I did came out. I used Rouge Bunny Rouge Angelic Cockatiels, Mac Vainglorious and Nars Mekong on my lids, Mac Her Own Devices (I’m so glad that I ended up going back to purchase this one after passing initially- it’s possibly the most flattering cheek product I own) and Springshine blush ombre on my cheeks and Bobbi Brown hi-shimmer lip gloss in Black Ruby.

I was happy with the way it worked out, but what made me really happy was that I was able to come home from work and transfer to my “evening out” face in five minutes, just building on what I’d done in the morning. Always feels good to be able to do that. And neutral eyes with a red lip is generally a winner in any situation.
