What we're Wearing

What We’re Wearing, Vol. 054

It was a really simple look for me this week–no photos, since I wasn’t testing anything–included Hourglass Suede on the eyes, Urban Decay Bourbon on the lash line, and Hourglass Imagine on the lips.

  1. I wore this week the Lancome eyeshadow in electric dream, really a lovely purple color. Combined it with a Bobbi Brown lipstick in pink buff.

the only makeup I wore was yesterday –
Eyes: UD Booty call on inner 1/3 and faintly under brows, NYX Daisy on outer 2/3 of lid (major fall out and poor payoff. So disappointing). Blended with same brush I used for Booty call. (like a 217). With a fluffy brush I blended a wash of Mac’s Give Me Liberty into the crease to warm it up a bit more. Lined upper lash line with Annabelle Earth eye kohl (kinda like MAC Duck). Annabelle Le Big Show mascara.

FAce: Rimmel Clean finish foundation only where needed, Joe Fresh cream blush in Apricot, MAC Hush CCB to highlight.

lip: lip balm. Can’t snuggle my baby girl with lipstick/gloss or her head gets all sparkly! LOL

This week was a busy week, lots of exams ( I’m in university) which means a lot of stress. One of the key things to starting the morning un-stressed is waking up a bit earlier and taking my time makeup wise resulting a bold lip twice ( once chanel rouge coco 19- gabrielle, and once chanel rouge allure velvet 37 – l’exuberante ), quite simple eyes ( chanel ombre essentielle in 45 – safari, which is my absolute favorite eye shadow, super flattering, great to combine with almost anything, clean-not-over-the-top looking shade :) ).
Mainly had to focus on my skin ( exam time = stress = breakout ), so I used clinique’s tinted moisturizer rather than a foundation because I needed a fair bit of local concealer ( mac studio finish concealer ) and wanted to avoid a “cake face”, used a natural looking blush ( l’oreal true match blush in 115 – true rose ) and finally set everything with either MAC (studio fix sheer/pressed powder) or with bare minerals (Matte loose powder foundation.
Oh made sure everything lasted with MAC’s fix spray (still not sure wether or not I like the fix spray though)

  4. My favorite look is my VDay look: L’Oreal metallic HiP duo in Electrified, Tarte Peaceful on cheeks, and Revlon ColorBurst Lip Butter in Peach Parfait on lips. Not very pinky or romantic, but I did use more of the darker side (plum) in my crease to make it smokier:

Do you like UD Bourbon? It’s one of my favorites!

  5. Cat

I wore some new things I had bought!

Face: Ulta Mineral Powder Foundation and Bare Minerals Original Foundation

Cheek: Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Exposed, The Body Shop’s Brush on Radiance

Eyes: Mac Painterly Paint Pot all over lid and up to under brow, UD eyeshadow in Toasted on lid, UD 24/7 Eyeliner in Perversion, Prescriptives Lash Envy Mascara.

Lip: Benefit’s I Think I Love You Full Finish Lipstick

My favorite was my vday look.
Eyes- lc candy eyed primer, Brule as a wash, mix of several colors in crease: UD Naked, Buck, MAC Wedge, Copperplate, UD Darkhorse. Black liquid liner slightly winged out and demi-wispies for lashes.

Lips- Revlon Lip Butter in Lollipop. The perfect bright pink- not too neon or scary, but not boring either.

Face- MUFE mat velvet+, kat von d tattoo concealer, benefit hoola to contour, nyx peach blush, UD sin to highlight

  9. I did a pink look for valentines day (obviously), with a winged liner, using ELF’s Pretty n’ Pink quad over a Claire’s Eyeshadow stick.

  10. Pretty, natural, summery Kjaer Weis look.

Skin: Becca Opal Shimmering Skin Perfector, Koh Gen Do Aqua Foundation, Chanel powder

Cheeks: MAC Melba (VERY lightly, just to provide a transition from the bronzer to the highlighter), MAC Pink Rebel lustre drops (highlighter), The Body Shop powder bronzer 04 (lightly as well, just to contour, not bronze up the skin)

    Lips: MAC Ruby Woo

  12. Amanda

This week I wore a simple neutral look with s slight pop of color. Used Nubile Paint Pot as a base/lid color. Also on the lid added MAC Arena to the outer half my lid and crease, and in the outer v I used MAC Desert Cloud (from the Butterfly Party stack). Lash line was Stila Lionfish. Lip was Blistex (lol my lips are a bit dry)

  13. Lauren

  14. It was a gloomy Saturday yesterday here in Singapore so I decided to wear something as dark as the clouds

I used Majolica Majorca Eyeshadows, a Japanese brand, and did a makeover on myself
On face: FaceShop BB Cream, Concealed using MAX Factor Miracle touch foundation, Set with MAC Studio Fix powder foundation.
    Lips: Maybelline watershine

Busy week with not a whole lot of time for makeup, but I did get a more dramatic look in on Sunday –

Face: Maybelline 115, NARS blush in Angelika (very lightly applied), Sephora bronzer

Eyes: Lancome eyeshadow in Serenity over entire lid up into crease, theBalm’s Matt Smith as the highlighter, Estee Lauder eyeliner in Blackened Sapphire around the entire eye, smudged out the corner, Maybelline Stilleto on lashes

Lips: Dior Addict Lip Glow Color Revival (the sheer shade)

  16. Mariella

I wore this a few times last week. Painterly as a base, Sweet Satisfaction on my lids and Too Faced Erotica in the crease. I have been trying to get some wear out of MAC’s Early Morning blush so I’ve worn it several times this week, too, with Revlon Berry Smoothie lip butter on my lips.

  17. Amber

I ended up getting a Cargo set the other day, so I had fun playing with the kit to make a really subtle look.

Eyes: Cargo Better than Waterproof Mascara and Eyeshadow duo in Gold/Brown, MAC paintpot in painterly, NARS Larger than Life Liner in Via Appia

Face: MAC Face & Body Foundation, Sheer Cover Concealer, ELF HD powder, Cargo Blush in Mendochino

    Lips: Cargo gloss in Morocco

  18. mumtaza

Midnight snack winged out and as mascara (thanks Dustin! Bought that tiny fan brush.), quick sizzle on lips. Those two lit up and defined my face!

  19. Funny, I was thinking that Suede was the one Hourglass duo I didn’t remember you reviewing- it’s next on my want list :-)

My favourite look from this week was a combination of Nars Ashes to Ashes and Lhasa on my eyes blended with Mac’s All Races. I paired that with Azalea Blossom and Guerlain Fuchsia Delice. Simply, completely reliable colours.

  20. Filthy Gorgeous Valentine nail polish and Body Shop shimmer cube purple eyeshadow.

  21. Dennis

I used to wear smokey eye make-up with nude lips, but this year I switched into reverse. Keep eye make-up simple as possible with neutral beige eyeshadow and subtle eyeliner and wear a bold lipstick! Orangey red, bold red, fuschia, even purple! All mine :)

  22. eun

I have been wearing Laura Mercier’s african violet all over the lid for the majority of the week, paired with brown or purple liner and multiple coats of mascara. I just can’t get over how pretty african violet is.
