What We’re Wearing, Vol. 039

What We’re Wearing, Vol. 039
This week has been all about testing new formulas (or ones I haven’t tried before) of longer-wearing products, so I haven’t been able to really do many full blown looks. It’s mostly a single eye product on the eye and waiting to see if it creases! Most disappointing was NARS Ponderosa, which I noted already, but the shade is so beautiful, so boo!!

I’ve been on makeup fast for 10 days. So no makeup just serum, moisturizer, eye cream and sun screen. I’m in love with Kielh’s skin care line. I will resume my makeup routine next week. Excited!
Foundation: Missha BB
Eyes MAC Phloof, Goody Goody Gum Drop, A wish come true; Benefit Loose Eyeshadow in Ruby Doo
Catrice Lashes to Kill; p2 waterproof eyeliner,
Lips: Essence All About Cupcake
Cheeks: Benefit Dandelion, MAC Lightscapade
It’s a mostly MAC day today.
Eyes: Moleskin on the lid, Club in the crease, and Orb as the highlighter. UD Zero 24/7 eyeliner on the upper lash line, and MUFE Smoky Lash mascara.
Face: MAC Mineralize face powder, NARS Laguna bronzer on the cheeks as a contour, NARS Albatross on the apples of my cheeks.
Lips: MAC’s Fresh Brew lipstick with MAC’s Kissable lipstick in Enchantee overtop.
Pretty basic neutral face!
I’ve been loving E.L.F Studio Pigment in Golden Goddess. I wore it this week with NYX Mermaid Green & Exotic Green.
Did you take that picture with your camera and edit it? It’s gorgeous! /imageeditinggeek

I’ve been wearing a lot of neutrals lately, which is rather odd for me. If it wasn’t bright or glittery I used to not touch it! Now all I wear are neutrals. Probably because they’re quicker!
Here is my favorite from this week- http://lacqueredpaintedpolished.blogspot.com/2011/10/fotd-unashamed-visionary.html
Mostly I’ve been wearing neutrals, and I’ve been enjoying new lipglosses so it’s been a new one each day!
Today in particular I’m wearing:
Eyes: the Balm Meet Matt(e) palette colors Matt Smith and Matt Patel (I think).
Cheeks: Benefit Coralista
Lips: Lush Snow Fairy lip tint and Anastasisa Beverly Hills Sugar Pink gloss (from the gift set)
fadburger, what do you think of meet matte? i had trouble blending some of the neutral/brown colors. I liked the gray and used it for a smokey eye. what other combos from the palette have you tried ? i need ideas! look this week: i used ud shattered on lid, jealousy wakes in crease, some sephora frosty white to blend and mac vanilla to highlight. nyx lipgloss in smokey look and maybelline velvet mocha blush. ud zero eyeliner.
Two favorite looks this week:
1: Guerlain Lingerie de Peau, Chanel’s Enigma palette (from Fall ’10) on eyes with the pink shade as a base, blue-grey shade in the crease blended softly into a wing, and the dark maroon on top and bottom lash lines, Cover Girl Lash Blast in Very Black, Chanel Joues Contraste in Imprevu on cheeks, and Chanel Rouge Allure Laque in Santal on lips. This can look slightly dramatic if the eye shadow is winged out farther, but is still very soft and feminine. I have photos of this in my bridal portfolio.
2: Chanel Vitalumiere foundations, Chanel Ombre Essentielle in Beige Lame all over lids and UD Perversion on top and bottom lash lines and winged out just a bit, CG Lash Blast again (always), Tarte Amazonian Clay Blush in Exposed on cheeks, and Guerlain Rouge G in Gigolo on lips. Extremely glam and fun to wear, but using a shadow on the lash line instead of a liquid or gel liner helps soften it a bit. For day I’d leave off the liner altogether.
As I wrote this, I realized I’m kinda favoring the higher end brands (which doesn’t surprise me:D), but I do use a bunch of other, more affordably priced stuff, too.
My favourite look I wore this week:
Face:
Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation, Guerlain meteorites to set, MAC Pretty Baby beauty powder used as blush. Too Faced Candlelight glow to highlight.
Eyes:
Too Faced eye shadows Label Whore, Honeymoon and Cop a Teal. Estee Lauder Sumptuous Mascara and Lancome Art Liner Black.
Lips:
MAC Plink.
I’ve been playing around a lot this week and came up with a couple of different looks that I really enjoyed:
1. A “vampy lip” look, in keeping with Halloween
Eyes- White Wheat, Patina, Sable, Dazzle Light (all Mac) and Dark Diversion as a liner
Cheeks- Briar Rose beauty powder + Truth & Light MCLP
Lips- Tom Ford Black Orchid
2. A more colourful look, to try to perk myself up under the endless grey skies
Eyes- Mac Gorgeous Gold, Juxt, Jealousy Wakes, Moonlight Night, Inglot 351
Cheeks- Ripe Peach Blush Ombre
Lips- Chanel Meteore Glossimer
I wore Stila’s Diamond Lil on its own on my eyes the other day (I might have applied a highlighter but I don’t recall) with black liner. I was surprised at how nice it looked on its own from lid to crease…it looked quite complex and not like it was just one shadow. I think I put Dame on my cheeks (I recall digging away at that darned thing a few times this week, though I might have worn Pinch o’Peach that day) and Plumful on my lips. I think I’m going to pull out Diamond Lil a fair bit as I was so pleased with the result.
Ponderosa reminds me of nars mekong in terms of color! Maybe you should try that if you’re looking for a similar color!
Foundation: Prescriptives Virtual Skin
Cheeks: Prescriptives Pompeii blush
Eyes: Mac Soft Ochre, Mac Grain, Mac Amber Lights, Mac Romp on the lid and crease, Mac Naked pigment on inner corner of lid, Mac Vanilla as highlight. UD 24/7 black eyeliner. Prescriptives Lash Envy mascara.
Lips: Prescriptives Moonbeam Gloss in Comet
Only wore makeup once this week but loved it!
Eyes: MAC Beautiful Iris all over lid and blended up to browbone and also blended along lower lashline, UD’s Fishnet on the outer corner and blended into the crease and UD’s Random on lower part of the lid. oh and MAC’s Mega Metal in Dazzlelight in the inner corner and 1/3 of lower lashline.
Cheeks: Nothing since I didn’t wear foundation and my cheeks had a nice flush
Lips: Lady Gaga 1st Edition l/s topped with Dazzleglass Creme in Gone Romancin’

I did a smoky neutral look today that turned out better than I thought
Eyes: TFSI, Fyrinnae Pixie Epoxy, UD Sidecar on the inner half of the lid, UD Darkhorse on the outer half and in the crease, Tarte Werewolf in the crease and above the crease and blended. LIPS: The Body Shop lipstick in Clover Pink with MAC Lip Glass on top
My Black Swan makeup today! Okay, it was my first attempt and it took almost forty-five minutes, but it turned out damn well for a first try! I just have to work on those darn lips (and a faster way to do those eyes!) for Monday! Trial two is tomorrow. I totally scared my brother; it was wicked.
Product wise, I don’t remember all the names. It’s not as long as I thought it would be though! I mainly used L’Oreal Carbon Black Lineur Intense, Benefit Blinged eyeliner, Virgin eyeshadow from UD Naked palette (to pale out my face. I’m uber pale and I had to get paler! I need to get a matte white on my paws. All I have is shimmer), Jemma Kidd Siren red lipstick with some black perle eyeshadow from Revlon to get an “ombre”/dirty effect (I hated the burgundy. That and burgundy looks hideous on me), a red lip liner, stila onyx kajal eyeliner, two greys to mix together to contour my cheeks (Charcoal and Silver from Jane Iredale, if I remember) and Oyster from Jane Iredale to highlight. I can’t forget the mascara. Okay, I had my standard BrowZings (dark), Boi-ing (01) and my tinted moisturizer under all that, but it isn’t as much as I thought it would be.
I didn’t use falsies as I’m allergic to every glue I’ve found here in America. I’m allergic to both latex and formaldehyde!
A really fun bright eye using loose shadows from a company that I won’t name (I bought them a long time ago before I knew better). Shimmery turquoise on the outer and inner thirds of the eyelid, shimmery lime green patted on the middle of the eyelid, shimmery purple in the crease, matte white as highlight, all 3 colors blended under the eye. Vaguely inspired by a look that Leesha did a long time ago.
Face – lots of Laura Mercier Secret Camoflauge concealer (having a breakout) and mac msf natural
eyes – stila kitten on lids and mac haux in the crease. Estee Lauder doublewear pencil in coffee to line
cheeks – mac stunner blush
lips – mac laugh a lot
My favorite look was for my brothers birthday and is quite dramatic, but I got a lot of compliments on it…
EYES: Fyrinnae trickery on the inner corner and Dark Magik on the rest of the lid, MAC passionate in the crease and deepened with MAC bloodline pigment, a white eyeshadow to highlight, venemous cosmetics boomslang loose eyeshadow on the inner lower lashline and yaby butterfly blue pearl paint on the rest. Black arabic style eyeliner and lots of mascara.
FACE: Revlon colourstay foundation with moisturizer, MAC blot powder, barry m natural dazzle bronzer and benefit coralista
LIPS: a little bit of benefit lady’s choice lipstick and estee lauder passion fruit gloss
Eyes: MAC Odd Couple
Lips: MAC Athena’s Kiss
Nails: Illamasqua Hemlock
Fragrance: Lancome Hypnose Senses
