Christine, I think I’ve got the same issue with Mineralize Eyeshadows that you have. With Semi precious, i went bonkers over Smoked Ruby, and it looked amazingly dark and red on the pan, but when mixed, it was this kind of copper/bronzy tone that I don’t really get to like, and it was a huge disappointment. I think the only time I’ve gotten to really love a Mineralize Eyeshadow was with Venomous Villains when I got “My Dark Magic” and it works beautifully to make wonderful shimmery effects, overall when used wet. Super pretty on the pan, not quite what someone would expect to obtain on the swatch/usage.

From this collection I think I’m only loving two of the Pain Pots (the black and the pink one) but not going super crazy for it. Maybe a lipstick but that will be it. Can’t wait to see your reviews about the Ice Parade bubbles and sets ^^.

I picked up the wintercool face kit and the all white & duofibre brush sets as well as a paint pot and glitter and ice dazzleglass based on colors I liked and reviews I read online. There was a lot of negativity/disappointment surrounding this particular launch and I almost didn’t get ANYTHING because I just spent a grip at Burberry’s trend show last weekend but I’m so glad I went with my MAC girl’s suggestions and stocked up on conveniently sized neutrals and SE brushes! Let me say the packaging is not that bad! It’s actually Bice to have a clear bag or 3 because I can find everything I need it in. It’s not as pretty as last years tartan tale bag but I’m a sucker for plaid so…. The snow globe on the face kit is really cool! It’s a dime with moving glitter liquid inside. The brushes are not prickly to me, I have almost all of the MAC full sized brushes and lots of SE rushes as well as some Chanel, Laura Mercier and the four Bubery brushes that are out. I like the clear glitter handle and they look nice in the clear bag. So on to the packaging. The ziplock looking bags will actually work really well for TSA checks. The “ugly” silver circle on the outside of the bags is actually a mini pocket, perfect for something small like tweezers or a sharpener. I especially like the white paint pots! I have to say the clear and white and glitter look so good together. I would not have thought so from the promo images and online reviews, but its a fun packaging idea. Moving on to the makeup, the colors & finishes I picked up I am very happy with. Anyway, thanks to Christine so much for the excellent reviews and honest opinions. For a lover of travel-friendly items this launch is amazing. There is something for everyone in terms of color.. I love neutrals and although there were a few shadows in the face kits I already had I didn’t have them in teeny tiny travel version. Glitter & Ice dazzleglass is a truly unique nude & it’s the highlight for me. Give this collection a chance. It’s pretty delicious! Just don’t have expectations that it’s going to change your life because that it would be all hype anyway :)
