Video: Mid-Week in Review, Vol. 003

This is a long one, so grab a snack! :)  The video is really dual-purpose — it’s really a recap of the past four days, but it also is a recap of the NARS and Andy Warhol collaboration (from what we’ve seen so far).  I hope you enjoy!

Products mentioned:

Makeup Breakdown

On eyes: Le Metier de Beaute Nouvelle Vague Kaleidoscope Eye Kit (Nouvelle, Gamine, Icon), Urban Decay Rockstar Eyeliner (lower lash line), and Giorgio Armani Eyes to Kill Lengthening Mascara. On face: Make Up For Ever HD Foundation (125), Milani Dolce Pink Blush, Guerlain Les Voilettes Mineral Powder. On lips: Guerlain Paresse Rouge G L’Extrait Lip Color.

I am so glad to know your blog Christine!!You saved me some serious money!!Thank you!

I’d prefer these weekly round-up videos to be shorter, with less emphasis on the packaging and swatches, perhaps with just one photo per product and links to the blog for more detailed reviews?

    Just my 2 cents =]

    • Hi Charlotte,

This video was longer than normal, because we reviewed about double the amount of products in the time than we normally do :) The whole point of the video is to share and talk about swatches – that’s what our viewers have asked for! Thank you for the feedback!

I like how the still image on your video is so Warhol-esque.

    Hi Christine,
I think it would make a lot of sense to actually show the products in the video, not just cut to the photos. Especially for size comparisons (e.g. Lipgloss applicator)this would be usefull. Holding them up quickly would probably be enough, because I like you straight-forward style!

    • Hi Sandra,

The reason we are not currently showing products on the video (live) is because our lighting isn’t good enough for it :( I can’t tell you how much we have tried and spent to deal with the lighting situation, but we have yet to find a fix. Thank you for your feedback!

I love your blog. Thank you for this series of reviews. These products LOOK beautiful, but being beautiful is a different thing entirely. The quality is obviously lacking. I am so glad to find out before I made a large purchase.

Have you seen the silver factory multiple or illuminator yet? I am interested in whether they are worthwhile.

    • I haven’t, Lisa! The only products I’ve seen have been the ones I’ve reviewed – I’m all out of NARS + Andy Warhol products!

    • Veronica

The illuminator’s the one that caught my eye, too, so I’m crossing my fingers they weren’t cut from the same terrible fabric as the rest of the collection.

Hi, Christine. I wanted to watch the whole video as I am an avid fan, but the fades into each edit made me feel quite unwell, they are dizzying. Did you have to edit a lot to reduce it to 22mins? I prefer the older editing style.

Will you be reviewing the eyeshadow palette you are wearing? Le Metier de beaute nouvelle vague? Is so when? Could you please post the ingredients if you do?

    • Hi Sandra,

I received a sample, so it is in sample packaging with no exterior packaging, so I do not have any ingredient list. There’s not even a label/sticker on the bottom. I suggest checking out Le Metier de Beaute’s website for more information or emailing them for an ingredient list :)

  9. Super job, Christine! Love your earrings :)

  10. thanks for saving me a lot of money. it makes me wonder why nars slacked off in this collection? it’s not like the brand at all to release useless items, at least for their powder eyeshadows. i own a lot and i am happy with every single one of them. the nail polishes are impressive but won’t be purchasing any because they all look very dupe-able. i appreciate all your efforts christine. thank you.

Thank you for all your hard work swatching and reviewing these! But sorry it wasn’t a great experience. :(
