Video Review: MAC Casual Colour Collection

Products mentioned in the video:

I wore Weekend Getaway on the cheeks and lips, and then I had MAC Beth Mask Shade & Smoke Shadow/Liner (which I don’t recommend!) on the eyes.

Loved the video, Christine! I live in southern Ontario, Canada, and it’s pretty darn humid in the summer – I can’t say I’m 100% used to it, but for the most part you get used to it! My worst humidity experience was in Japan – August, 2011. Within 2 minutes of stepping outside I was sweating. Insane!!

Thanks temptalia for the detailed description on the Lip and Cheek colour products. In the winter my skin is more combination, but in the summer tends to be more overall oily. I loved your idea of being able to quickly put on some coordinating cheek and lip colour after the beach, but like you said, I don’t think my oily skin will work well with it! I really appreciate that kind of detail and thought you put into your reviews. Thanks again for all of your hard work!

    •  @jillianps That’s how I felt in NYC! But I was coming from dry heat in CA, and I haven’t experienced any humidity since 3-4 years ago, I’d say (whenever the last time I was in FL). Made me appreciate the dry heat of CA, though!

      Thank you, Jillian!

So true! NYC is very comparable to where I live in Ontario (we’re pretty darn close to NYC!) so you would have felt what I feel on a regular basis. But you’ve also been to Toronto yourself, right? To create Jealousy Wakes? You would have gotten a taste of southern Ontario weather :) I agree though – I love the dry heat in states like CA!

On a side note: as a business graduate myself, I love supporting/seeing entrepreneurs (particularly women!) starting their own businesses through their passions. And you’ve done a phenomenal job with Temptalia. I visit quite a few makeup blogs, and yours is by far one of the best, if not *the* best. I’m always looking forward to your tweets and new posts!

  3. Thank you for the video Christine. I have normal to oily skin and I live in humid all summer NY lol. I love some of these colors so I will only use it as a lip color not a cheek color. I don’t need my cheeks looking like 2 oily grease balls on my face…lol.

Hi Christine! How do the Casual Colors compare to the Cremeblend blushes? Also, have you tried applying a finishing powder over the Casual Color to tone down the “dewiness”?

Living in southern Florida and working outdoors in Key West every weekend I actually prefer a cream product that holds to a powder product. There is absolutely no powder in the world that can hold up to the humidity down here and when your foundation/moisturizers start melting and mixing with the powders things actually start changing color. Don’t fight the “dewey” look, it’s just pointless. Work WITH it =o)
