Bobbi Brown @ Rachel Roy
“Eyes are intense, covered in rich velvet…Scarlet and black create a modern smolder…” - Wendy Rowe for Bobbi Brown Cosmetics
A 1930s Egyptian influence weaves together fashion and beauty at the Fall 2010 Rachel Roy Fashion Show. Peacock prints are lifted from feminine silhouettes and translated into bold, beautiful makeup. Iridescent “peacock feather” eyes gleam in denim and burgundy metallic shades from brow to lower lash line with a hint of aqua on inner corners, ultimately lined with a black kohl pencil. An even, dewy finish of the skin, softly defined pink cheek, and sheer beige lip allow the eyes to be the star of this show.

Friday, February 19, 2010Honestly, I think its ugly. I mean the execution is flawless, but the end result is ugly.

Friday, February 19, 2010In all honesty, none of these backstage beauty pictures appeal to me. Too overdone or too plain.
Jenny
Friday, February 19, 2010I agree.
Frances
Friday, February 19, 2010This is amazing! Why can’t BB do stuff like this more often instead of Nude : Part 394987458979589347537459739?
Tatyana
Friday, February 19, 2010Geez, they are scary looking.
Coonie
Friday, February 19, 2010Not even a tiny bit of airbrushing?
Tiny bit?
Dusty
Friday, February 19, 2010i remember seeing this post when it was about the hair and now commenting on the make-up (because it was a hair post) lol. i don’t see ancient egypt in here at all though! it looks kind of 70′s glam/goth to me (the hair looks a bit mullet-esque which emediatly makes me think of ziggy stardust).
maybe a little siouxsie sioux inspired? i like the opalescent quality of the inner eye with all that black though, that’s a nice touch. other than that, this looks like something i would have done a million times in high school (on my “robert smith” fridays). :)

Friday, February 19, 2010Sorry but most og this “models” are super ugly! Cant understand how they become models!
Dusty

yvette
Friday, February 19, 2010must have really been a stretch for BB to do something that’s not natural.
Angi
Friday, February 19, 2010Ewww. Sorry, this is awful. Anytime the makeup makes the models look horrible there is obviously something very wrong with it.

Friday, February 19, 2010To me they don’t look egyptian at all, they resemble Raccoons. I think it could be much more flattering than the way it was done.
Krys
Friday, February 19, 2010I don’t care for the overall look but ugh the model on the left in the first and solo in the second picture, her skin just looks so blah!
Luisafer
Friday, February 19, 2010wow!!! 100% for the show!!!
Love the idea, would do it a lot more tone down…
Bianca
Friday, February 19, 2010Always wondered what scary harpy makeup looked like.
Natalie
Friday, February 19, 2010Didn’t know BB can do looks like this! :D Honestly, I prefer MAC’s version
Artemy
Friday, February 19, 2010Those black eyes really enhance the gap between her teeth in the bottom picture.
Laura
Friday, February 19, 2010LMAO! Seriously though… This makeup execution looks theatrical more than anything else.
(BTW – This photo scared my 4 year old!).
Jackers
Friday, February 19, 2010Right?!
Kate
Friday, February 19, 2010One word: UGLY!
Michele
Friday, February 19, 2010Beyond Ugly! Appropriate for a Steven King movie – YES!
Carmen
Friday, February 19, 2010this model is ugly and gap-toothed,and the makeup does not help at ALL. I’ll pass.
Sarah
Friday, February 19, 2010At first, I thought the idea was an intentionally ugly sort of thing. I also don’t get how an “Egyptian” influence (because it’s black?) has anything to do with the plaid she seems to be wearing.

Saturday, February 20, 2010I’m sorry, but I have yet to be impressed by any of the makeup looks on the runways this year (not just your posts, of course) This one is horrid- it amazes me what some artists will do in the name of Avant Garde. If I did put a picture of this on my website or in my portfolio, I bet large sums of money I’d be ripped up one side and down the other.
Just saying!
Jessica Allison
Saturday, February 20, 2010I typed that out wrong, I didn’t mean “If I did put a picture of this on my website” to mean anything about you- I meant to say if I did this look and posted a photo of it, people would be talking about what an amateur I was…hopr you get my meaning :) BTW, got my Flirt! package, can’t wait to play!!!
Vero
Saturday, February 20, 2010Horrible looks!!
Frances
Saturday, February 20, 2010Jeez, why are people making such catty comments about the model?
Claudia
Saturday, February 20, 2010Oooh my godness! The ugliest girl I’ve seen in the last time!
Chai
Sunday, February 21, 2010This look is so disappointing in my opinion. Assuming that it was a professional makeup artist, this looks like it was applied by a 12-year-old-new-to-make-up-who’s-trying-for-the-smokey-eye look! Yikes!
Lydia
Sunday, February 21, 2010Oh this is ugly! haha
