  1. Megan Allaire

I would use it in a smokey eye with pale pink lips; a very sultry valentines day look.

  2. This is my *favorite* color from Nars, and even before I got it, I lusted over it for over a year! But strangely, I have had issues pairing it with other colors! I’ve worn it in purple looks (colors from the 2008 Mac holiday set are great) but Strada is actually darker than it looks in the pan! Though it can make a gorgeous smokey eye!

I was just thinking a gold or maybe Kitten by Stila might be pretty!

i’m obsessed with the way this shadow looks in the pan, and the way it swatches.. but when it comes to applying it on my lids it looks like a nightmare :(, the same thing happens with Trax aswell.. I just can’t get the little gold flecks to stand out.. what should I use as a base?

I like to use this for a smokey eye, and some matte pinky nude lips..

I cant agree more this color looks gorgeous in the pan but on the eyes its just dark strange purple =(

I agree, i loved it in the pan. I did however figure out a way to make the gold flecks stand out. U have wet your brush with a mixing medium like (water & Glycerine) and then u must pat the brush into the lid, not swipe. & becuase its wet, the colour of purple is darker. I definately use it for a smokey eye with mac angel lipstick.

I looove this eyeshadow and must agree with the other comments that it looks darker on my eye than in the pot or swatch. Weird! And I also love the gold sparkles in it.

Strada influences me to create an ethereal fairy look. To emphasize the gold sparkles I would pair it with gold shadow highlight for your eyes. Angelika blush and some kind of gold sparkled lip gloss would be totally lovely!

I like to use Strada with Nars Night Rider. I use Night Rider on the lid, with Strada on the outer lid and in the crease as a contour colour. They don’t look like they go together when looking at them in the pans, but on my skin it works very well (MAC NC15). I use benefit Throb blush on my cheeks and pink lips (an example would be MAC Pervette lipstick with Pink Opal pigment dabbed on!)Add some black eyeliner, mascara, and a bit of purple eyeliner on the bottom lid and i’m done!

I adore Strada, it’s one of the most beautiful and unique e/s in my opinion. The trick with Strada is that it needs a good base. My favourites are the purple side of MAC Odd Couple or Stila smudgepot in Violet. It’s so much fun to try it over different purples, so it’s actually very versatile.

I would wear it as a wash over most of the lid & into the crease, and then blend Himalayas (an opal pinkish color) into the brow bone, down to the crease, line water lines and near lashes with a dark black pencil & mascara. Sin (berry gold blush)or Zen (neutral beige) blush

then I would stain my lips with Hindu lipstick (medium fig color)

This colour is somewhat similar to MAC’s discontinued shadestick in Silverbleu. I LOVE that shadestick, and I usually draw it all over the lid, use MAC’s Vellum as a highlight, and use MAC’s Parfait Amour in the outer V. I then wear a pink blush like MAC’s Pink Swoon and a bit of Dolly Mix. Finally, I pair it with MAC’s lipstick in Impassioned with Prrr lipglass.

I know this look seems rather bright and not day-time wearable, but I find I can tone it down to my liking :)

I have actually patted mine on over rubanesque paint pot from MAC. That made the gold stand out pretty well.

Strada is the first and currently only Nars eyeshadow i’ve ever bought and I love it! I usually put on a couple layers of Estee Lauders shadowcream first in Lilac Petals all over the lid and then pat some strada on, mostly on the outer corner and into the crease. Lilac petals is a very similar color to strada but a bit brighter and the duo-chrome shows up much better.

I’ll use a champagne colored highlight on the brow and the inner corners, anything slightly frosty. Then dab a thin, sheer layer of Mac smoked purple lipstick on the lips and a little bit of Buxom’s lipgloss in carmen smoothed over.

I don’t have a brightly colored pink blush, but I used the slightest bit of Mac passionate eyeshadow on the apples of my cheeks, blended very well. As much as I love strada I didn’t think i’d find a way to wear it, but this turned out pretty well, it makes a statement but it’s still pretty soft and almost romantic.

  12. I know this sounds weird, but I put Strada over Indianwood Paintpot to bring out the flecks. I still have a hard time making it work for me so I have only pulled it out a few times. It may actually make it to my makeupalley stash. I am not sure yet. I love many of the NARS singles so it surprised me that this didn’t thrill me, but it is so funny because I am not a fan of the duos. I don’t get as much pigmentation with the duos. My ultimate fave is Emmanuelle. Anyway, the Indianwood helped bring out the glimmer:)

  13. I bought this shadow yesterday and tried it with Stila’s Copper. So pretty! Use Strada in the outer corner/outer third of the eye with Stila’s Copper on the middle of the lid (or with a bright hot pink/coral color) and any champagne/white/flesh tone color in the inner corner. <3 it!

I love strada, I love to use it with a smoky gray shadow and a lilac or black liner. I have worn it for years, it remains my favorite. You can wear a lot of different colors of shadow with Strada, for example, a lilac pink or pale blue/gray shadow. Strada can be subtle, or dramatic if you pat more of it on. I wear any color of lipstick with it, but prefer a shiny light coral or even some of the Mac creamy but sparkling lip colors such as “quiet please”.
