Color Wheel: Bahama Breeze

Date: May 28, 2009 - Posted in: Color Wheel

Go with the soft, summery BAHAMA BREEZES and get inspired by the ocean’s rolling waves and the glinting sun with shades of aqua and blue.

With an eyeshadow brush, apply a light aqua-blue all over the lid. In the middle third of the lid, lightly pat on a muted teal shade with a fluffy brush. On the outer third of the lid, blend a deep violet-blue shade with a fluffy eyeshadow brush. Using a tapered crease brush, lightly blend the deep violet-blue shade into the crease Define the crease with a small, tapered crease brush and tap a dark, blue-black color to add depth. Highlight the brow bone with a soft yellowed highlighter shade, and then line upper/lower lash line (as desired) with a bright pop of aqua-teal. For complementing cheeks, try sunkissed cheeks by dusting a light touch of bronzer or a light tint of coral. Finish the look with lip colors in beiges, nudes, or corals for best results.

Are we going to see the actual look with these colors?

These are meant to give you ideas on color combinations you can try. I kind of just do what I feel like when I do my makeup :) I’ve done a few combos that are similar to this in the past.

Hm. I might have to try this!

Any suggestions on other teal liners?

The higher end brand teal liners that Christine mentioned are really the best out there that I’ve tried. However, if you are looking for drugstore comparisons of good quality, you could try Revlon Colorstay in Teal or Prestige makes one too but I forget the exact name. Also the other dept. store makeup brands surely carry a teal dupe liner as well I am sure.

        Thanks for the help!

Between the MAC and Urban Decay liners, which is better/More pigmented?

I personally prefer Urban Decay’s colored liners. For me, they glide on easily, are super pigmented and don’t budge at all. They don’t call them 24/7 Glide-On liners for nothing!! :) They really are that good. However, Make Up Forever’s colored Aqua Liners are up there as well in terms of waterproof & easy to apply with vibrant pigmentation. I go to my MAC liners when I want basic black or brown.

        Something inexpensive lmao

I tried this look today! I did change up the colors a bit, and I love how it turned out.

I used a mix of Aquavert and Warm Chill all over the lid.
Patted Waternymph over the middle of the lid.
I did the contrast where it was suggested, and I don’t have Nehru so I used Plumage.
And I dont have gorgeous gold, so I used Soft Force (from Style Warriors)

And I found a liner to use for now. Victoria’s Secret is having 75% off makeup and I found their teal glitter liner pencil that works!

I have pics, I’ll upload them when I get home. :]

I want to say Cover Girl has a really pretty teal liner. I think they’re called CG Smoothers. I’m blanking on the name, but I know I bought one a long, long time ago and it was a really great pop of teal.

I can’t wait to see the pics, Jessie!! :)
