Guerlain Beaugrenelle Ecrin 6 Couleurs Eyeshadow Palette ($93.00 for 0.25 oz.) is a set of cooler-toned, blue-leaning shades that range from a silver to blue to navy blue. I’m not keen on the formula Guerlain’s been using in their recent eyeshadow palettes, as it is drier with a dusty feel that makes them prone to fading, sheering out, and generally not apply well. I wish there was more hold to these, and the eyeshadows would bind better so they would be easier to use. At this price point, it leaves me completely disappointed.

Beaugrenelle #1 is a light, silvered taupe with a fine, gold pearl and a frosted finish. It had semi-sheer color coverage with a dry, dusty consistency that made it hard to apply and keep from sheering out on the lid. It lasted for seven hours before noticeably fading. It had good pigmentation with a soft, silky consistency that was easily blended on the skin but doesn’t stick as well to bare skin so I would recommend a primer with this one. Beaugrenelle #6 is a muted, blackened blue with a matte finish. It’s a cream eyeliner, and it is fairly firm/stiff in the pan, so it is really prone to apply unevenly on the skin as there is quite a bit of drag. I would recommend applying as your eyeliner, and then using a smudging brush to blur some of the unevenness, as the formula is blendable.
