Chanel Rouge Corail Le Rouge Crayon de Couleurs ($37.00 for 0.04 oz.) is a bright, medium coral-red with warm undertones and a cream finish. It had rich color payoff–was one of the most pigmented shades in the line-up–paired with a creamy, smooth, and soft texture that melted on the lips. The formula was very moisturizing but still long-wearing (five hours). There was a slight, reddish stain that it left behind as well.

The formula is supposed to have “rich colour in a single stroke” with a “satiny” finish. The lipstick pencil twists-up (no sharpening required), and the consistency is incredibly creamy, soft, and smooth. The coverage varied from mostly opaque to opaque, depending on the shade, and the wear time ranged between three to five hours with some shades (like the reds and fuchsias) leaving a stain behind. It was a very hydrating and comfortable formula to wear, but they’re so soft that I felt like it was easy to over-apply the product when there isn’t much product in each tube (0.04 oz. compared to a standard Chanel lipstick, which is 0.12 oz.). Twist-up pencils usually contain less product than a twist-up tube of lipstick, but I wish these had a little more (like 0.08 oz.) or else not quite as pricey. I didn’t notice any scent or taste.

Framboise

Chanel Framboise Le Rouge Crayon de Couleurs ($37.00 for 0.04 oz.) is a vibrant, medium-dark pink-red with subtle, cool undertones paired with a cream finish. It’s the kind of color that makes me think of “warm” fuchsia. The texture was smooth, creamy without being slippery, and easy to apply on the lips. It had nearly opaque color coverage that went on evenly and lasted for five hours. The lipstick left a subtle stain behind and was moisturizing.

Fuchsia

Chanel Fuchsia Le Rouge Crayon de Couleurs ($37.00 for 0.04 oz.) is a bright, medium-dark fuchsia pink with cool, blue undertones and barley-there fuchsia pearl. It had nearly opaque coverage, but you could still see my lip freckle peeking through! The consistency was creamy, moderately emollient but not too slippery on the lips, so while it was comfortable to wear, it did not slide around. This shade wore nicely for five hours, left behind a pinkish stain, and was hydrating.

Carmin

Chanel Carmin Le Rouge Crayon de Couleurs ($37.00 for 0.04 oz.) is a medium red with subtle, warm undertones and a glossy, cream finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation that applied evenly and smoothly on the lips. The consistency was creamy, soft, and comfortable to wear, though it sat better on the lips than most shades in the range (it appeared to plump up my lip lines). This shade stayed on well for five and a half hours, left a reddish stain behind, and felt moisturizing.
