The formula is supposed to have a "glowy" finish that is hydrating and gives buildable color with "buildable, glowy shine." They managed to feel more velvety and glide-on rather than melty and glossy, despite the end result having a moderate about of shine and glow. As a result, the formula was more like a balmy lipstick than a glossy lip balm.

The coverage ranged from semi-sheer to semi-opaque but were generally in the more medium, buildable range, which was in line with the brand's marketing. They were fruity in scent but had no discernible taste. The shades applied evenly, felt comfortable to wear, and typically lasted three to four hours with moderate hydrating.

It had a smooth, lightly tacky texture that wasn’t too thin or too thin, which yielded semi-sheer color payoff, though it was buildable if desired.

As a cheek product, it applied evenly to bare skin as well as on top of foundation, despite having light tackiness to the texture. It seemed to dry down slightly, as it initially looked quite dewy but settled into a more satin-like sheen, which wasn’t fully set or matte. It wore well for eight hours before looking like it had migrated slightly.

As a lip product, it applied evenly to my lips with slight settling into my deeper lip lines, which wasn’t visible at a normal viewing distance. The texture seemed to “melt” and felt less tacky as it sat on my lips. It lasted for four hours and was hydrating over time.

The formula is supposed to have a "nourishing, buttery formula" that "melts into skin" and add a "touch of colour." The brand recommended dabbing it on lips and/or cheeks, though it could be used with precise brushes if desired. I found fingertips worked well for both methods, though as a lip product, I could see a standalone lip brush being more ideal (I feel like I needed more product on my lips than for my cheeks).

The texture was like a thicker gel with noticeable tackiness, so I was very surprised that the product applied well on top of foundation and wasn't prone to lifting it up. On my cheeks, it dried down noticeably, though not fully, so it had a satiny sheen but did not appear as dewy as initially applied. On my lips, it retained more shine for longer, but it wasn't particularly long-wearing as a lip product.

It had sheer to semi-sheer, buildable pigmentation, which was most readily achieved on my lips. The light tackiness and thickness of the product seemed to help it work well on my lips as a lot of tinted lip balms are often so thin that they are prone to settling into my lip lines or catching on texture imperfections.

The consistency was lightweight, neither too thin nor too thick, and had light tackiness that seemed to melt away as the product sat on my skin or my lips.

It had semi-sheer, buildable color coverage that spread easily over my cheeks and my lips. It applied evenly on bare skin as well as over foundation as it did not lift up my base products. The lip product applied evenly to my lips, didn’t catch on lip texture, and didn’t settle visibly into my lip lines. It wore nicely for eight hours on my cheeks and three and a half hours on my lips (and was moisturizing).

The finish seemed balmier and dewier on my lips, where the product melted and spread out and lost its tackiness. When it was applied and blended out on my cheeks, it seemed to lose some its shine and tackiness but was never fully set.

The consistency was lightly tacky to the touch, which, surprisingly, wasn’t an impediment to application. I had no trouble applying the product on top of foundation or over bare skin and getting an even, diffused result. The color went on evenly and was forgiving of lip texture as a lip color. This shade stayed on well for seven and a half hours as a cheek product and three hours as a lip balm (and was moisturizing).

The finish was dewier on my lips and more satin-like on my cheeks, as it seemed to melt into my skin and lose some of its tackiness and shine, whereas on my lips, it seemed to melt and be balmier.

It had semi-sheer, buildable pigmentation paired with a lightly tacky, spreadable texture that wasn’t too thick or too thin. It applied evenly and blended out well as a cheek product over bare skin as well as on top of foundation. The product went on evenly across my lips with a smidgen of product that settled into my lip lines but not enough to be visible in person.
