Anastasia Moonchild Glow Kit ($40.00 for 0.90 oz.) includes six, shimmering, sparkling highlighters. Three of the shades have a slight duochrome (very subtle–I think it works on cheeks, but it’s hard to capture in a still photo), while the other three are more consistent in color all the way through. I think it’s a really intriguing, versatile palette for those who like to experiment with color and layering with various blushes and bronzers. Anastasia does indicate this palette can be used on eyes as well (the other Glow Kits mention face and body but not eyes), so that may be an alternative use for some. The biggest issue I had with the palette was that some shades were a little drier/looser in the pan, and of course, these are sparkly and metallic, so they can emphasize pores, depending on how much you apply.

As a note, it does contain slightly less product than the 4-pan Glow Kits (which have 1.04 oz. of product) but is not significantly less (the upside is you get more shades, and if you rarely pan your products, it’s a better value to have the additional shades).

Blue Ice is an icy white base with blue sparkle and shimmer. It had semi-opaque, buildable coverage that was sparkling and lightly metallic on the skin. The texture is a smidgen loose in the pan, but it didn’t create a mess in the pan and did not look dry or sheer out too easily on the skin. It can emphasize pores if worn at semi-opaque or greater coverage, but when I used it as a highlight over another blush, it didn’t emphasize my skin’s texture. Star is a light silver with subtle, cool undertones paired with a metallic sheen. The amount of shine and reflectiveness in this shade is insane–it is very, very metallic and looks brighter on as it catches the light than viewed straight-on. Purple Horseshoe is a bright, light pinky-lavender with iridescent purple and pink shimmer. This shade had a drier, looser texture–almost gritty with the way the larger sparkles separated from the powder–that applied better to the skin than it looks as a heavier swatch. The highlighter blended out well, but even at sheerer coverage, it did emphasize pores and my skin’s natural texture (which is something that isn’t always a deal-breaker, but it is worth noting). Pink Heart is a dirty, light beige with hints of green in its base that shifts from light pink to cooler violet. This was the least metallic in the palette, though it had more noticeable sparkly bits that sat on the skin. The texture was smooth, soft, and blendable without a hint of dryness. Lucky Clover is a very light, warm white that flits between yellowy gold and greenish gold with a metallic sheen. It had good color payoff with a fairly soft, blendable texture (just a touch dry). Blue Moon is an icy, bluish-silver with strong, cool undertones and a metallic sheen. There’s enough shimmer and pigmentation in this shade that it doesn’t look chalky or ashy against my skin tone, despite seeming to be white-based. The texture was very soft and a little went a long way, so I’d highly recommend using a light hand when applying this one and building up.
