Tom Ford Bicoastal Sheer Cheek Duo ($78.00 for 0.15 oz.) is a new, limited edition blush duo for summer that uses a wet/dry formula. According to the brand, the blush “can be applied wet for a soft veil of color” or “dry for a sweeping pop of vibrancy.” Both shades were fairly pigmented applied dry, but both intensified and were much more opaque when applied damp. They were less blendable when applied with a damp brush (the darker shade was less forgiving). The wear dry was eight to eight and a half hours, and the wear damp was eight and a half hours (for both shades). Forgetting that it’s supposed to be sheer when applied damp, it’s a nice blush duo, and I think that for those who don’t want to bother with damp application, the dry application is actually where the blushes shine best.

Bicoastal (Top) is a light-medium pink with a hint of warm, peach and a frosted sheen. Applied dry, it was mostly opaque with a very frosted sheen that was just shy of emphasizing pores. Applied damp, it was fully opaque (not a “soft veil of color”) with a smoother sheen–it was actually less noticeably shimmery/luminous when applied damp. On me, it wore well for eight hours dry, eight and a half hours damp. Bicoastal (Bottom) is a medium-dark, raspberry pink with subtle, warm undertones and a soft, pearly sheen. Applied dry, it had good pigmentation (but it appeared faded in overall appearance compared to damp application) with a soft, smooth consistency that was easily blended on the skin and wore for eight and a half hours. Applied damp, it was less shimmery and appeared warmer in tone, while the color lasted for nine and a half hours; it wasn’t as blendable when applied with a damp brush (I would use fingers to blend out).
