Tarte Tarteist Glossy Lip Paint ($20.00 for 0.20 fl. oz.) is supposed to be “pigmented” with a “glossy” and “non-sticky” finish and have a hydrating formula to back it up. There are nine shades available, and it is a new, permanent formula. The consistency is light-medium in weight–more gel-like with a very smooth, lightly creamy texture. It’s more like a gloss than merely a liquid lipstick, so it has a glossier finish overall. Most of the shades were semi-opaque to fully opaque, and even the darker shades applied evenly for the most part (that was a surprise!). They’re comfortable to wear, lightly hydrating, and non-sticky over time. The wear varied between three to five hours for me. I didn’t notice any scent or taste when testing these.

It had mostly opaque color payoff that went on evenly overall, but it wasn’t quite as smooth in appearance (the darker color seemed to highlight lip lines close-up) compared to other shades.
