Tarte Bling It On Amazonian Clay Blush Palette ($44.00 for 0.75 oz.) is a decent to good blush palette if you like your blushes mid-tone and warm-toned with more satin-like finishes–and 12-hour wear-time isn’t a must. Four of the five are new (as far as I can tell), with Dollface being a shade in the permanent line (but I think the one in this palette isn’t quite as blue-based). That being said, Tarte has released a lot of limited edition blushes in the same type of shades, so you may already have ones similar enough. I’m not a fan of the packaging, as the black glitter is quite chunky and flakes off the palette. Tarte’s full-sized, standalone blushes cost $28.00 and contain 0.20 oz. or $140.00/oz. This palette contains $105.00 worth of blush for those of you keeping track of value this year!

The Amazonian Clay 12-Hour Blush formula is supposed to last for twelve hours (shocker!) with “soft to vivid” colors. They are longer-wearing than the average blush, but the tend to wear between eight and ten hours on me. The coverage is semi-sheer to mostly opaque, while the finishes are usually semi-matte to satin. One issue I have with the blushes is that they tend to develop hardened surfaces as they seem particularly sensitive to any oil getting on the surface (e.g. oils from your face transfer to your blush brush, which is dipped into the pan).

Fetching is a muted, medium rosy pink with soft, warm undertones and a satin finish. It had a fairly soft, smooth texture that blended out easily on the skin while the color lasted for nine hours on me. The texture was soft, a little dusty, but applied well and didn’t look dusty or dry on the skin. On me, the blush lasted for eight and a half hours. Prim is a muted, rosy brown with warm undertones and a satin sheen. The texture on this shade was a little firmer, which made it harder to get color payoff out of it, so it was more semi-sheer to semi=opaque and needed two to three layers to be visible on my medium skin tone. Smashing is a light-medium, pink-coral with warm undertones and a matte finish. This shade was very soft and silky, but it kicked up excess powder in the pan, so it was also more powdery to work with. Luckily, it didn’t read powdery on the skin. It had good pigmentation and blended out with ease. On me, this shade lasted for nine hours.

Beaming is a soft, light-medium peach with a hint of pink and silver sparkle and shimmer. The texture was somewhat dry and dusty to work with, and this is a shade that really sheered out when applied to bare skin. The sparkle/shimmer didn’t bind well with the base powder, so it actually looked quite matte applied. It wore for eight hours on me.
