Beautiful Beginnings with Maybelline

What was the first Maybelline product you ever tried?  Did it pave way for a real romance or did it put you off the brand entirely?  What was the first product you purchased?  Did you love it? Hate it? Still own it?

my answer: I love their new Color Tatoo range! It’s great to see so many colorful shades available. I wish I could track down the new limited edition shades. I’ve always liked their Full ‘n’ Soft mascara (it was a go-to for years), as well as their gel eyeliner and lipsticks.

Beautiful Beginnings with Kiehl’s

What was the first Kiehl’s product you ever tried?  Did it pave way for a real romance or did it put you off the brand entirely?  What was the first product you purchased?  Did you love it? Hate it? Still own it?

my answer: Though I may not review the brand very often, I actually use numerous products on a regular basis, and it’s one of the few brands I repurchase from. It’s an affordable, practical range of effective skincare products. Right now, I have a Kiehl’s body wash, Creme de Corps, body sunscreen, and tinted moisturizer all in rotation.

my answer: I think the first product I ever tried was their Sugar lip balm, which feels really nice going on, but never lasted all that long on me – I felt like I went through a tube pretty quickly! I like their skincare though.

my answer: The first product I remember trying was an eyeshadow quad called Tuxedo, which was basically a smoky gray/black smoky eye kind of palette. I really liked her Shimmer Blocs, though – pretty to look at and full of shimmer! Now, I’m a huge fan of her lip products, which seem to fly under the radar a bit, but they can pack some pigment!

Beautiful Beginnings with Le Metier de Beaute

What was the first Le Metier de Beaute product you ever tried?  Did it pave way for a real romance or did it put you off the brand entirely?  What was the first product you purchased?  Did you love it? Hate it? Still own it?

my answer: Lipgloss was my first love! I remember being in NYC and going through one of the high-end stores (maybe it was Barney’s?) and spotting the counter. I had never heard of the brand before, and let me tell you – $35+ for a gloss at that time was a big deal for me! I loved, still love the gloss, and generally find the brand to be very, very good. They don’t have a lot of products, but they have excellent products. It’s still hard for me to bring myself to shell out $95 for their Kaleidoscopes even though I know it’s a good deal.

Beautiful Beginnings with L’Oreal

my answer: Now, L’Oreal and I did not get off to a good start when I started reviewing products on the blog. I was sooo not a fan – just too many misses in a row. However, I stuck with ’em, and then I discovered their Chrome Eyeliners, which are phenomenal! I’m also digging some of their glosses for their color/shimmer.
