Bare It All

NYX Bare It All Nude Matte Eyeshadow ($4.50 for 0.05 oz.) is a medium, plummy brown with warm, rosy undertones and a matte finish. It had semi-opaque, buildable pigmentation with a soft, slightly dusty texture that was blendable and fairly easy to work with but would apply best over an eyeshadow primer for better grip and coverage. On me, it lasted well for seven hours before fading noticeably.

Formula Overview

$4.50/0.052 oz. - $86.54 Per Ounce

The formula is supposed to be "packed with pigment" with a "soft and smooth" texture for "seamless blending." Most shades had decent to good pigmentation with most being semi-opaque but buildable. The textures were soft, a little drier and dusty, but blendable. They applied better over eyeshadow primer as they had a tendency to sheer out a little too readily on bare skin. On me, most of the eyeshadows lasted between six and eight hours before fading noticeably.

NYX Betrayal Nude Matte Eyeshadow ($4.50 for 0.05 oz.) is a medium-dark, neutral brown with a matte finish. It had medium, buildable pigmentation with a soft, powdery consistency that was prone to fallout if I wasn’t careful to tap off the excess. The eyeshadow was blendable but was a bit prone to sheering out so I would recommend an eyeshadow primer with this shade as a must. It wore well for seven hours on me before it started to fade on me.

NYX Blame It On Midnight Nude Matte Eyeshadow ($4.50 for 0.05 oz.) is a light-medium peach with warm undertones and a matte finish. It had good color coverage that was buildable to opaque coverage in two layers. The eyeshadow was slightly dusty in the pan, but it was soft and blendable on the lid without being too easy to sheer out. It lasted well for seven and a half hours on me.

NYX Contort Nude Matte Eyeshadow ($4.50 for 0.05 oz.) is a medium, grassy green with subtle, warm undertones and a matte finish. It had sheer coverage, which was buildable to semi-opaque coverage with three or four layers packed over primer. The texture was drier and almost grainy with lots of fallout and excess product kicked up in the pan. It wore well for six hours before fading noticeably, though it was never particularly vibrant on the lid.
