NARS Noire et Blanche Audacious Lipstick Coffret ($55.00 for 0.32 oz.) includes four miniature-sized lipsticks with three of the four shades being new and one is a repeat from the permanent range (Charlotte). Three shades were quite pigmented and one was semi-opaque, and all four lasted for at least five hours on me and were no hardship to wear or to test. I noticed the texture of Charlotte and Josephine was thinner and less creamy compared to the Audacious formula on average.

Dolores

Dolores is a bright, medium red with neutral-to-warm undertones and a cream finish. It was richly pigmented and had a smooth, creamy texture that glided across the lips with ease and sat well without getting into all my lip lines. The color lasted for five hours, left a slight stain behind, and was slightly hydrating.

The formula is supposed to have "one-stroke, full-coverage" pigmentation with a "soft matte finish" that is "long-lasting" and "hydrating." The formula is best characterized by its texture: creamy, smooth, and slightly denser/thicker on (but not heavy) compared to the typical lipstick formula. Most of the shades are opaque, while "weak" shades are more semi-opaque. The majority of the colors I've tested have applied evenly and smoothly with good glide and feel comfortable on my lips. They tend to last between four and six hours and was lightly hydrating to non-drying. There was no noticeable scent or taste.

Lee is a meidum-dark, coppery red with warm undertones and a cream finish. The pigmentation was opaque in a single layer, while the consistency was creamy, smooth, and light-medium in thickness–not thin but not heavy either. It started to wear down after five and a half hours of wear, and the formula felt moisturizing while worn.

Charlotte is a medium-dark, burgundy red with subtle, warm undertones and a natural finish. It had nearly opaque color coverage in a single layer. The consistency was smooth, lightweight, and comfortable to apply and to wear, but I noticed it was less creamy and not quite as substantial on the lips compared to the full-sized version–the mini felt “stiffer” (but not actually stiff). The lipstick lasted for over six hours and was neither drying nor hydrating.

Josephine is a medium-dark, plummy red with subtle, warm undertones and a lightly glossy finish. It had semi-opaque coverage that applied fairly evenly on the lips, but it had more of a stained-like appearance compared to the other shades due to the translucency it had. The texture was thinner than most Audacious lipsticks, though it still applied without tugging and was comfortable to wear. This shade wore well for five hours and was lightly moisturizing.
