MAC Power Hungry MAC Girls Personality Palette ($39.50 for TBA oz.) is a set warm, light and mid-tone neutrals–there’s nothing particularly new or groundbreaking here, but it’s a solid neutral palette for someone with fair to medium skin and likes a softer, shimmery look (could easily have used another matte or two!). The palette features a new eyeshadow formula with four finishes–Satin Shine, Smooth Pearl, Foiled Shadow, and Creamy Matte–that are supposed to have a “creamy, silky texture with superior colour payoff” along with a powder highlighter that’s described as “lightweight” and has “just the right amount of pearl and pop.”

Overall, the formula isn’t night and day from the brand’s standard powder eyeshadow (and did not seem like they reinvented powder eyeshadow!), but it was noticeably softer, more finely-milled, and the Foiled finishes were denser and very sparkly–almost like an amped up take on their Lustre eyeshadows. The Creamy Matte finish seemed to have more pigmentation and blendability than of the brand’s firmer mattes have had. Unfortunately, the quality of each shade varied enough that it was not a slam dunk formulation, but I liked the direction of the formula but would like to see better consistency.

Totally Obsessed

Totally Obsessed is a light-medium yellow with warm undertones and a matte finish. It had medium coverage, which was buildable to semi-opaque coverage in two layers. The texture was soft, blendable, but it was a little powdery in the pan. This shade lastedf or seven hours on me.

Bling Mistress

Bling Mistress is a medium, golden brown with warm, yellow undertones and a matte finish. While incredibly soft and blendable, there was moderate powderiness in the pan and a bit of fallout during application. This shade applied better with a primer, as it helped minimize how much it sheered out. It had medium, buildable pigmentation that lasted for seven hours on me.

The consistency was soft, a smidgen dusty in the pan, but it held together well on the lid and blended out easily. It wore well for eight hours on me.

Money Mad is a soft, peachy orange with warm undertones and a pearly sheen. The eyeshadow was richly pigmented and had a smooth, almost cream-like texture that was easy to blend out on the lid. It lasted for seven and a half hours on me.

Hot to Trot is a soft, muted gold with warm undertones and a pearly sheen. It had semi-opaque pigmentation, which was not really buildable but was better over a primer. The texture was smooth, dense, and a little firmer compared to the rest of the palette. This shade wore well for eight hours on me.

Gimme That! is a bright, light gold withw arm undertones and a luminous sheen. The consistency was incredibly smooth and soft to the touch, but it was also quite dense and firm in the pan, which made it harder to get even payoff onto my brush, so the application took longer to buff and blend everything together seamlessly. Once on, though, it was quite pretty and looked blended. It wore well for eight hours on me.
