Bare Instinct

Estee Lauder Bare Instinct Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipstick ($32.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a medium, rosy beige with subtle, warm undertones and a cream finish. The pigmentation was mostly opaque, but the consistency was less forgiving than most shades in the range as some color pulled into lip lines and it showed a few streaks. It wore well for four hours on me, which was more in line with average than the wear time claimed. The formula was comfortable and hydrating to wear.

The Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipstick formula is supposed to have “high-intensity color” that hydrate lips with six-hour wear. It’s one of my favorite formulas, as the majority of the shades are creamy, smooth, pigmented, hydrating, and long-wearing (four to seven hours). They are vanilla-scented but have no discernible taste.

The Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipstick formula is supposed to have “high-intensity color” in a "single stroke" that "glides on effortlessly" and has "six hour" wear. More recent copy of the formula has been more specific as it having "medium-to-full coverage."

Most shades in the range are lightweight, creamy with moderate slip with semi-opaque to opaque coverage that wears four to seven hours. The formula tends to sit well on lips and either gives the illusion of plumpness or smooths out lip lines slightly. It's also hydrating while worn.

They are vanilla-scented but have no discernible taste.

Estee Lauder Nude Cult Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipstick ($32.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a muted, medium peachy brown with warm undertones and a satiny sheen. It had nearly opaque pigmentation that applied evenly across the lips and did not drag when applied. The lipstick felt creamy, lighter weight but had substance to it on the lips. It wore well for five and a half hours and felt hydrating to me.

Estee Lauder Pinkberry Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipstick ($32.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a subdued, medium-dark pink with neutral-to-warm undertones and a soft sheen. It had good color coverage that went on fairly evenly with slight visible streaking when I pressed my lips together. The consistency was lightweight, creamy without being too slippery, and comfortable to wear. On me, the lipstick wore nicely for five hours and was moisturizing.
