Bite Beauty Palomino/Pomegranate Luminous Creme Lipstick Duo ($14.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a duo of fuchsia and neutral red. The Mix ‘n’ Mingle duos are a good way to try the Bite formula without having to spend a lot–you get two-thirds of a full-sized shade for $14 (instead of $24). I’m a big fan of the Luminous Creme formula, which is supposed to be richly pigmented, hydrating, and long-wearing; and it usually lives up to those claims. Both of these shades are nice, and they are also both part of the permanent range should you love only one or want to pick-up a full-size.

Palomino is a medium-dark, fuchsia pink with cool, blue undertones and a satin finish. It had very good color payoff with a creamy, smooth texture that glided across the lips without tugging and was comfortable to wear without emphasizing the lip’s natural texture. The texture is light-medium in thickness, but it had a little less glossiness than some of the Luminous Creme shades. Pomegranate is a medium red with neutral-to-warm undertones and a glossy, creamy finish. It had nearly opaque color payoff with a particularly glossy shine compared to the average shade in the range (kind of funny how they were both more/less glossy compared to the standard shade!).
