Tom Ford Louis Lip Color ($35.00 for 0.07 oz.) is a light-medium, cool-toned pink with strong, blue undertones and a white base. It had semi-opaque pigmentation with fine white pearl that gave it a more frosted sheen, but the texture itself wasn’t that emollient, so it looked almost like a “matte frost” in finish. It glided on without tugging on the lips, but there was some visible streaks. This shade lasted for four hours, was lightly drying, and pulled into lip lines to a moderate degree. Tom Ford Malik Lip Color ($35.00 for 0.07 oz.) is a muted, medium lavender with hints of warmer pink and gold frost. It had semi-opaque pigmentation that covered evenly but the natural lip color will impact how this looks on an individual. The texture was lightweight, lightly creamy, and thick enough that I didn’t feel the texture of the shimmery bits. The color lasted for four hours and was very lightly hydrating. Tom Ford Drake Lip Color ($35.00 for 0.07 oz.) is a muted, medium-dark raspberry pink with cool undertones and fine, multi-colored pearl shimmer. It had semi-opaque pigmentation with a lightly creamy texture that applied evenly but is more satin-like in the shine part of it, despite having a fair amount of shimmer! FORMULA OVERVIEW | Tom Ford Lips & Boys Lip Colors ($35.00 for 0.07 oz.) are “clutch-sized” lipsticks; it uses the same formula as the full-sized Lip Colors (which retail for $52 for 0.10 oz.), but the packaging feels the same, just smaller. Tom Ford’s lipstick formula is supposed to be hydrating, pigmented, and have a more luminous finish (there is also a specifically Matte formula available that is much flatter in finish). This year’s launch of Lips & Boys features 25 new shades that are part of the new “metallic” finish, and then the return of 25 shades from last year. In general, the formula is semi-opaque to opaque with a lightly creamy consistency that doesn’t slide around a lot but doesn’t cling to the lips. I get anywhere from three to six hours of wear out of them, and most shades are lightly hydrating over time. The formula is vanilla-scented with no discernible taste.
