Milk Makeup Mars Holographic Highlighting Powder ($30.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a pale, pinky beige with a pink-to-lavender shift. It was more of a duochrome than Supernova but the finish was much more subdued and more like a faint pearl than a true shimmery. The effect of this one was more noticeable when layered with blushes, as it would alter the blush a bit more noticeably than when this was applied on the face by itself. All that being said, subtle doesn’t quite seem to be what the brand had in mind as they call the formula “intense.”

The formula is an “intense highlighting powder” that is supposed to have “full payoff in a single swipe” that can be used on cheeks and eyes. The color payoff was good, but the effect remained subtle, so it might not look much against my skin tone. There was some noticeable shift in person, depending on the angle and lighting. If you prefer a blinding highlight, I would not recommend it, but if you prefer a subtle highlight and like the idea of a duochrome (but often find them too intense), this might be for you. The consistency was soft, smooth, and moderately dense and felt a touch powdery on the skin initially. It was blendable and any powderiness dissipated as I buffed and blended the powder across my cheeks. The highlighter lasted for eight hours on me.
