MAC Frosting Lipstick ($17.00 for 0.10 oz.) is described as a “pure white [with a Matte finish].” It’s a bright, stark white with a matte finish. It was pretty pigmented with nearly full coverage, but the consistency was a little drier and seemed chalky to me, so it didn’t apply the best. Some of the color “cracked” as I smiled, and it could have gone on more evenly. For those who aren’t looking for a full, opaque white to wear on its own, it might be more appealing as a mixing shade, as it will lighten anything you add to it. In my experience, it does seem to stretch other formulas and make them appear a little less smooth on. I was able to minimize this effect by applying some of the white first, then layering the darker shade on top with fingertips (the warmth helped maneuver everything into place). MAC Lazy Lullaby Lipstick ($17.00 for 0.10 oz.) is described as a “white lavender purple [with a Matte finish].” It’s a very light, pinky9-lavender with subtle, neutral-to-cool undertones and a semi-matte finish. It had mostly opaque color payoff, while the texture applied without dragging on the lips. Unsurprisingly, the lighter shade combined with the denser texture made it prone to “cracking” when I stretched my lips smiling. It is one of the better-applying, ultra-light shades, though, and it doesn’t have as much slip as some others in the family have had. MAC Lightly Charred Lipstick ($17.00 for 0.10 oz.) is described as a “cool grey [with a Matte finish].” It’s a light, bluish-gray with cooler undertones and a satin finish. I don’t think this is a true matte, as there was a definite sheen to it when applied. It had nearly opaque pigmentation and went on evenly. The consistency was lightly creamy with a bit of slip, but it didn’t slide around or appear streaky applied. Some of the color gathered into lip lines after three hours of wear, though it lasted just over four hours in all. KVD Beauty Zero (P, $19.00) is darker, warmer (85% similar). These three shades are new, permanent shades that will be added to the existing line-up. It seems that many stores have these shades available for purchase, but as of the posting date of this review, I did not see them available online yet.
