Fenty Beauty Snow Daze Frosted Metal Lipstick Set ($36.00 for 0.20 oz.) features three, “creamy, metallic lipsticks” that have “hyper-vivid impact.” Two of three shades in the set had good pigmentation, application, and wear, but one (What’s Your Numb’a) was semi-sheer and applied unevenly. If you’re easily bothered by the feel of sparkle/shimmer in your lip products, this formula may not be for you.

Each shade contains 0.065 oz., which is just a smidgen bigger than a full-sized Mattemoiselle Lipstick that contains 0.06 oz. and retails for $18.00. This formula hasn’t been released previously, but using the price point on the Mattemoiselle (which has similar packaging, sizing, and so on), this set contains $58.50 worth of lipstick for $36.

Cuffing Season is a bright, medium-dark fuchsia pink with cooler undertones and cool pink and silver pearl/sparkle. It had nearly opaque pigmentation with a creamy, lightweight texture that had enough slip to glide across my lips easily but not enough that it felt slippery when worn. The shimmers/sparkles distributed well across my lips, but they did add noticeable texture that I detected as I applied it and as it wore down, so those more sensitive to that may want to skip this formula. It wore well for four and a half hours, left a very faint fuchsia-like stain, and was lightly hydrating.

Formula Overview

The formula is supposed to be "creamy" with "hyper-vivid impact." Most of the shades I've tried are pigmented and apply evenly. The formula has a smooth, creamy consistency with moderate slip that glides on easily but doesn't feather or bleed on me. The wear ranges from three to six hours, and they have felt moisturizing overall. Some shades have more noticeable/larger sparkles in them, and I can sometimes feel them during application as well as during wear, but how much depends on the particular shade. I didn't notice any scent or taste.

What's Your Numb'a

What’s Your Numb’a is a medium gold with strong, warm undertones and a glittery finish. It had semi-sheer “coverage” mostly in the form of sparkle/shimmer as it seemed to have a more translucent base, though nothing in the marketing indicated that (and the brand’s promo swatches show it as an opaque product). The texture was more slippery and emollient compared to the other two shades in the trio, and it seemed to contribute to the uneven application that resulted. I could feel the sparkles quite a bit, both in the tube but also during wear from beginning to end. It lasted for three hours on me and was lightly moisturizing.

So Chilli

So Chilli is a deep copper with warm, red undertones and a pearly sheen. The shimmer was much finer in this particular shade over the other two in the trio. It had a smooth, creamy consistency with moderate slip and a shinier finish. The pigmentation was opaque in a single layer, while the lipstick applied evenly and didn’t exacerbate my lip lines. It stayed on nicely for five hours and was hydrating over time.
