Vain Vanilla

Estee Lauder Vain Vanilla Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipstick ($32.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a light-medium, peachy brown with strong, warm yellow undertones and a satin finish. It had good pigmentation, though it wasn’t opaque in one stroke, that was buildable to opaque coverage. The texture had more slip in it than some shades in the range, so there was a touch of color that gathered in my deepest lip lines. It was comfortable and hydrating to wear while it also lasted for five and a half hours on me.

The Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipstick formula is supposed to have “high-intensity color” that hydrate lips with six-hour wear. It’s one of my favorite formulas, as the majority of the shades are creamy, smooth, pigmented, hydrating, and long-wearing (four to seven hours). They are vanilla-scented but have no discernible taste.

Naked Desire

Estee Lauder Naked Desire Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipstick ($32.00 for 0.12 oz.)
is a soft, medium rosy brown with subtle, warm undertones and a natural sheen. It had semi-opaque color coverage that went on evenly, though I had some issues with color migrating into lip lines a little more than was normal with this formula. It wasn’t too noticeable from a normal viewing distance, though. The consistency was creamy, emollient but not slippery, and comfortable to wear as the formula was hydrating. I was able to wear this shade for five hours.

Stripped

Estee Lauder Stripped Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipstick ($32.00 for 0.12 oz.) is a muted, medium brown with warm, peachy undertones and a lightly glossy sheen. It had semi-opaque color payoff that applied decently, but there was more slip and I felt like the color was harder to keep in place. When I pressed my lips together, there was an obvious “line” where I did so, and a bit of color welled in my lip lines after I initially applied. The color wore well for four and a half hours and was hydrating over time.

The Pure Color Envy Sculpting Lipstick formula is supposed to have “high-intensity color” in a "single stroke" that "glides on effortlessly" and has "six hour" wear. More recent copy of the formula has been more specific as it having "medium-to-full coverage."

Most shades in the range are lightweight, creamy with moderate slip with semi-opaque to opaque coverage that wears four to seven hours. The formula tends to sit well on lips and either gives the illusion of plumpness or smooths out lip lines slightly. It's also hydrating while worn.

They are vanilla-scented but have no discernible taste.
