Dior Atlantique (344) 5 Couleurs Eyeshadow Palette ($61.00 for 0.21 oz.) is a new and limited edition, cool-toned palette that features three blue-hued eyeshadows, a shimmery silver, and a medium brown (that is very warm-toned, so it seems out of place). The good news is this wasn’t as bad as Rivage, which made any blue eyeshadow lover instantly tear up. It’s still not a hit, and it’s hard to forgive major errors at this price point. The darkest blue is incredibly powdery, dusty, and sheer. The silver shade is mostly silver shimmer, and the light blue is so-so. The best performer was the medium blue, followed by the brown, which was still a little powdery. On the lid, wear time varied dramatically depending on shade, so if that’s a deal-breaker, I’ve noted the wear times with each shade below.

Atlantique #1 is a sheer, sparkly silver with cool undertones. There’s no real colored base, just silver shimmer and larger silver sparkle. It’s better patted over another shade than used on its own. There was some fall out over time, and it seemed to last about five hours before most of the sparkle had moved onto bigger and better things (namely, my cheeks). Divergent Transform (LE) is less sparkly. Dior Dulcinee #3 (LE) is a cream product, more pigmented. MAC Platinum Love (LE, $19.50) is less sparkly, more metallic. bareMinerals Steam (LE, $14.00) is more metallic. MAC Bleuluxe #1 (P) is more pigmented. Chanel Infini (P, $28.50) is more pigmented. Atlantique #2 is a light-medium, sky blue with a subtle sheen. It had semi-opaque color coverage, and the texture was a little powdery to work with, so it was prone to disappearing when blended on the lid. It’s best to pat this shade in place and only finesse the edges. It lasted for seven hours on me before fading. Dior Dulcinee #5 (LE) is greener. MAC Clearwater (P, $18.50) is a cream product, more muted. Disney by Sephora Blue Oasis (LE) is greener. MAC Sky Blue (P, $15.00) is slightly greener. Atlantique #3 is a navy blue with fine, navy blue shimmer. The texture was soft but quite powdery, and the resulting color payoff was dismal–semi-sheer at best. It applied unevenly, and it was difficult to blend out on the lid. It managed to stay on for almost seven hours, though, but getting it to look half-decent was a challenge. MAC Indigo Blend #2 (LE) is darker. Makeup Geek Nautica (P, $5.99) is more shimmery. Chanel Metamorphose (44) #4 (LE) is darker, brighter. Atlantique #4 is a medium, muted periwinkle blue with a soft, pearly sheen. It had really good pigmentation, and the texture was balanced between soft and smooth without being powdery. This color wore well for eight hours before showing signs of fading. Wet ‘n’ Wild I Don’t Do Camouflage #3 (LE, $2.29) is darker. NARS Rated R #2 (P, $24.00) is more matte, brighter. Atlantique #5 is a medium brown with very fine golden shimmer, yellow-y undertones, and a satin finish. It had fairly good color coverage, and the texture was just slightly powdery. The color lasted well for eight hours. MAC Butterfudge (P, $15.00) is lighter, cream product. Wet ‘n’ Wild Naked Truth #5 (P, $2.29) is darker. Makeup Geek Hipster (P, $5.99) is more muted, less warm-toned. Too Faced Hazelnut (P, $16.00) is more shimmery. Makeup Geek Brown Sugar (P, $5.99) is similar.
