The Sheer Voile formula is supposed to have a “creamy smooth and nourishing sensation on lips” with “sheer coverage” and a “luminous shine finish.” It had semi-sheer color coverage that went on evenly and smoothly, and the consistency is a bit softer and feels like it melts against the warmth of the lips more so than with the other two finishes. I liked that it didn’t melt too much, so it didn’t feel heavy or like you could easily over-apply like some stick lip balms can. It was lightweight, moderately hydrating, and lasted for three hours on me, though it didn’t stay shiny for longer than an hour and a half. It had a rosy, perfume-like scent and taste.

Each lipstick is housed in a glossy black cardboard box with a red velvet shell lining, silk case (it was rougher and I thought it was just plastic mesh, but the brand says it is silk), and the lipsticks have a shimmering, gold ribbon that loops around. The ribbon has two crimped ends, and you’re supposed to simply tie them into a knot, but I wish it was some sort of clasp for better hold. It has moderate heft; not as heavy as Guerlain’s Rouge Gs but certainly not so light that it feels “cheap.” They don’t stand up, and they don’t have the shade name printed on them at all; there is a number printed on the interior tube, but the numbers aren’t readily available online. The packaging itself has a lot of details, and it’s a unique shape and style relative to what we see on the market, but I imagine you have to appreciate the packaging to justify the rest of it. I wish they stood up, because then you could really display them (like the polishes), or perhaps if the top was a removable cover, rather than a lid on a “hinge,” then you could remove the cover and display in the boxes.
