Tom Ford Show It Off (04) Lip Contour Duo ($53.00 for 0.08 oz.) contains a slim lip color with a twist-up “Lip Shaper,” where the lip color hides in the base of the component. It’s a plummy duo with a slightly darker, rosy plum lipstick and a gold-flecked pencil that matches in tone but is lighter in color overall.

The Lip Shaper is designed for enhancing and defining the lips, and it can be used to shape or “create an ombre effect” to the lips, while the lip color is supposed to be full coverage. Sadly, I really like the lip color formula in the duo; it’s very creamy, hydrating, and comfortable to wear with four to six-hour wear time, but the Lip Shaper formulation left a lot to be desired. I struggled with using the Lip Shapers as they often broke on me, as they were quite brittle, and the majority were very dry, so they tugged and dragged on the lips. They also had bits of sparkle, which did not work well for defining the edge of the lips nor did it work out for filling in the lips.

Show It Off (Lip Color)

Show It Off (Lip Color) is a muted, medium-dark rosy plum with warm undertones and a creamy, satiny finish. The texture was smooth, lightly creamy with just enough slip that it glided on with ease but did not slide around. It had excellent pigmentation that covered the lips evenly. On me, the lipstick wore well for almost five hours and was hydrating over time.

Show It Off (Lip Shaper) is a medium, rosy plum with chunky, gold glitter over a matte finish. It was very similar in tone to the lipstick, just lighter. The texture was drier, lightly tacky, and difficult to apply as a result. It had good pigmentation, but the amount of pressure needed to achieve that was painful on the lips as it tugged and dragged endlessly. The liner lasted for over six hours, and it definitely helped improve the longevity of the lipstick, but it was very drying.
