Sephora + Pantone Universe Rush Luster Cheek Sweep ($26.00 for 0.39 oz.) includes two Luminizers and one blush. I loved the mix of colors in the palette, and I really appreciated that they went for a true, “Radiant Orchid” blush–it’s a shade that you just don’t see often as a genuine blush (but there are similar shades if you look at eyeshadow). I wish the two Luminizers were a bit less metallic, as they can slightly to somewhat emphasize skin imperfections/pores. Otherwise, all three shades had really good color payoff, and the textures were soft, smooth, and blendable on the skin. You get plenty of product in the palette, and it’s an excellent price point, so I think it’s well worth checking out–especially if you’ve ever craved a purple-y blush!

Bridal Rose is a medium-dark, pinky-plum with warm undertones and a metallic sheen. It had excellent color payoff, and this shade, while called a Luminizer, is more of a blush than a traditional highlighter as it has quite a bit of color as well as sheen. The texture was soft, finely-milled, and blendable. It does emphasize pores somewhat, though, and it wore seven and a half hours on me before looking patchy. NARS G-Spot (P, $39.00) is darker, less metallic, cream. MAC Rose Quartz (LE, $30.00) is darker. MAC Lavish Living (LE, $25.00) is darker. MAC Sweet Samba (LE, $25.00) is less metallic, darker. Spanish Villa is a golden beige with a frosted, metallic finish. This had good color payoff, and the texture was fairly soft and smooth. It has a lot of shimmer and sheen, so I saw slight emphasis of pores/skin texture with this hue. If I swept on the highlighter with a fan brush, I had a subtler sheen, but it didn’t emphasize pores, so that was a plus. It wore well for seven hours before it looked a bit patchy and faded. IT Cosmetics Hello Light (P, $24.00) is darker. Giorgio Armani Belladonna (LE, $88.00) is more golden. NARS Devotee (LE, $29.00) is lighter. Radiant Orchid is a cool-toned, pinky-purple with a pearly finish. It’s intensely pigmented, and the texture was soft and blendable. This is not a shy shade at all, and I was surprised to see just how purple it actually was. I don’t have anything quite like this as far as blush goes, so I turned to eyeshadows. This shade wore well for eight hours before starting to fade. Bobbi Brown Ultra Violet (LE, $21.00) is darker, more matte. NARS Rage (LE, $24.00) is a touch lighter.
