NYX Pastel Chic HD Blush ($6.50 for 0.16 oz.) is a very pale pink with cool, blue undertones and a matte finish. It is almost like a washed-out lavender. There is a strong white base, so on my skin tone, it looks chalky, and obviously I’m unable to show it to its best appearance as a result, even though it had semi-opaque coverage. (It is going to be ideal for someone who is fairer and finds most blushes too dark for their preferences.) The texture is very, very powdery, despite having an incredibly silky consistency to the touch but remains easy to blend out on the skin and looks even applied. NYX Baby Doll HD Blush ($6.50 for 0.16 oz.) is a pop of light-medium pink with subtle, cool blue undertones and a luminous sheen. It had good pigmentation that was buildable to totally opaque coverage in two layers with a moderate shimmer that was noticeable without emphasizing pores. The blush had a somewhat powdery consistency in the pan, but it applied well and sat nicely on the skin. It started to fade after eight hours of wear. FORMULA SUMMARY | NYX’s newest blush formula is supposed to be a “high definition, lightweight blush that blends evenly” that is “vibrant and silky.” The texture tended to be on the more powdery side, but it sits well and doesn’t look powdery applied. Many shades have a more luminous finish to them where the shimmer is fine enough to create a Baby Doll, rather than a frosted finish (though a couple are quite shimmery). The formula blends fairly easily on the skin and has medium, buildable coverage with some being very pigmented right off the bat. The wear time is between seven and eight hours.
