It had excellent color payoff, and the texture was soft, creamy, and extremely blendable. It wore well for nine hours on me. Ardency Inn Rose Gold (P, $21.00) is more mauve. Make Up For Ever M842 Wine Artist Shadow ($21.00 for 0.08 oz.) is a medium, muted berry with a matte finish. It had semi-opaque color payoff with a silky, finely-milled texture that was slightly powdery. Of all of Make Up For Ever’s finishes, the mattes feel the most like your traditional powder eyeshadow and the most like their original formula (but I think their mattes are smoother and silkier). Wine has some trouble adhering to bare skin, though plenty of pigment lifts off the surface–it just doesn’t stick. On me, it wears seven and a half hours before looking slightly faded. It had good pigmentation with a soft, creamy consistency that was blendable and never powdery. The finish is really nice, as it has a barely-there shimmer that just keeps it from looking too flat on the skin, but it doesn’t look shimmery applied. This shade wore well for eight and a half hours before fading slightly. bareMinerals Yes Please (P) is lighter. Tarte Chocolate Kisses (LE) is darker. Urban Decay Vengeance (LE, $18.00) is a touch lighter. Make Up For Ever S-60 (P, $21.00) is a cream product, more shimmery. MAC A Harvest of Greens #4 (P, $21.00) is more shimmery.
