MAC That Trillion Dollar Look Eyeshadow Quad ($44.00 for 0.14 oz.) is a mix of greens, more or less. There are four shades housed in a metal compact all in a row. The pans seem the same size as full-sized eyeshadows, but the quantity is actually smaller. The usual pre-made eyeshadow quads contain 0.19 oz. (almost always have one Veluxe Pearl, which are 0.04 oz. in full-size, individual pans, whereas other finishes are 0.05 oz.), so you are getting a bit less here. A few shades in this palette were on the powdery side, which made them more difficult to use and prone to fading/sheering out during application, so I think using a good primer underneath these is a real must.

Lisa’s Spikes is described as a “lime green [with a Frost finish].” It’s a brightened, yellowed green with a satiny sheen. It had fairly good pigmentation, though the texture was blendable, it was also on the powdery side. It was slightly faded after seven and a half hours of wear. Make Up For Ever I-30 (P, $21.00) is more shimmery, cream. NARS Tropical Princess #1 (LE, $24.00) is brighter, slightly less yellow. Urban Decay Thrash (P) is more matte, brighter. MAC Chartreuse Bouquet (LE, $21.00) is more shimmery, darker. Kat Von D Birdcage (LE) is darker. Aveda Papyrus (P, $14.00) is darker, more matte. Apple Squishee is described as a “mid-tone Kelly green [with a Frost finish].” It’s a brightened, medium grass green with a pearly sheen. It had really good color payoff, but it was somewhat powdery–I also found it was very prone to sheering out when applied to the lid. I felt like I had to pat it on firmly and barely blend the edges or else it would disappear. It seemed really promising when I initially swatched it, but in practice, it stumbled. On me, the color wore well for seven hours before fading. Makeup Geek Appletini (P, $5.99)is slightly warmer. MAC Wondergrass (LE, $15.00) is brighter. MAC Guacamole (LE, $15.00) is more muted. 2 Dozen and One Greyhounds is described as a “dirty olive green [with a Veluxe Pearl finish].” It’s a light, golden green with warm, olive undertones and a frosted finish. It had nice pigmentation, and the texture was soft, smooth, and very blendable. It wore well for eight hours before fading. YSL Avant Garde #5 (P) is cooler-toned. theBalm #16 (P, $6.50) is darker. MAC In the Meadow #3 (LE, $21.00) is greener. Tarina Tarantino Secret Pond (LE) is similar. Urban Decay Jealous #2 (LE, $18.00) is similar. Chanel Metamorphose (44) #3 (LE) is more muted. bareMinerals Wicked (P) is cooler-toned. Inglot #412 (P, $6.00) is more shimmery. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

Chalkboard Dreams is described as a “deep blackened teal [with a Velvet finish].” It’s a blackened teal with subtle lighter teal sparkle over a matte finish. It had good color payoff with a powdery, drier texture that kicked up a lot of excess product both in the pan as well as during application, so you’ll want to pat it on and probably do eyes first (and base after). It was fairly blendable, which was a surprise. On me, the color didn’t show signs of fading until after eight hours of wear. Chanel Fascination #4 (P) is bluer.
