MAC Lapisluxe Veluxe Pearlfusion Eyeshadow Trio ($25.00 for oz.) is a cooler-toned shades. The three shades coordinate well together, but the Veluxe Pearlfusion is one of those eyeshadows that you may love or easily skip right on by. This formula is supposed to have “sheer coverage with a soft finish” when applied dry and “super saturation of colour with metallic brilliance” when applied wet. My experience with this formula is that sometimes it can be really nice, other times it is a total miss. I think they are most practical used damp or over a slightly tacky base if you want to use them dry. They’re actually longer-wearing than you might think, given how they feel and swatch, but I usually get seven to eight hours of crease-free wear.

Lapisluxe #1 is described as a “white sparkle.” It’s a very glittery, sparkling bright white with a metallic sheen. It had a very loose consistency, so it was difficult to apply dry as most of it would drop below the lid–a glitter adhesive would really come in handy with this. Even damp application, which if you press the product onto the lid, still has some fall out, so you’ll still want to use a tacky base with this shade to make it workable. The “color” left behind seemed to stay on for around seven hours, but there was definite fall out. MAC Angelic (P, $21.00) is less shimmery. MAC Fancy Frosting (LE, $18.50) is darker. Lapisluxe #2 is described as a “sparkly ocean blue.” It’s a purled-blue with warm, plummy undertones and blue sparkle. It had semi-sheer coverage applied dry with some fall out over time, while damp application was more opaque and smoother with less fall out. It lasted for seven hours with light fall out. Lapisluxe #3 is described as a “deep grey-navy.” It’s a muted, dark gray with cooler undertones and a pearl finish. It had the same coverage–semi-opaque–whether applied dry or damp, while the consistency was firmer and more difficult to blend. This shade wore well for eight hours before fading.
