Happy Swatch Saturday!  Today, I’m bringing you photos and swatches of five current (permanent!) shades of MAC’s yellow and gold-hued eyeshadows, plus two (somewhat) recently discontinued shades (Bright Sunshine, you will be missed!)  Any favorites?  Are any of these must-haves for you?  What yellows/golds do you wish MAC would make permanent?

MAC Chrome Yellow Eyeshadow ($15.00 for 0.05 oz.) is described as a “vivid bright yellow [with a Matte finish].” It’s a medium, warm-toned yellow with a matte finish. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

MAC Goldenrod Eyeshadow ($15.00 for 0.05 oz.) is described as a “bright marigold yellow [with a Satin finish].” It’s a medium-dark, warm-toned yellow with a subtle orange tone and matte finish. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

MAC Goldmine Eyeshadow ($15.00 for 0.05 oz.) is described as an “intense gold with shimmer.” It’s a medium-dark, yellow-orange gold with a frosted, metallic finish. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

MAC Gorgeous Gold Eyeshadow ($15.00 for 0.05 oz.) is described as a “muted yellow-gold [with a Veluxe Pearl finish].” It’s a light-medium, yellow gold with a subtle green tint–the tint can be more or less apparent but tends to come out mostly if paired with cooler-toned shades, otherwise it looks more like a light gold. MAC Nylon Eyeshadow ($15.00 for 0.05 oz.) is described as a “pale gold with icy shimmer.” It’s a light, white gold with a frosted, almost metallic, finish and warm undertones. See comparison swatches / view dupes.

MAC Bright Sunshine Eyeshadow ($15.00 for 0.05 oz.) is a vibrant, medium yellow with a frosted finish. It is very much “sunshine yellow.” See comparison swatches / view dupes.

This shade was discontinued, but it was also re-shot and re-swatched during the process (I learned many shades were discontinued in the past two years!), so I’ve included it anyway.

What’s Swatch Saturday? I can’t always review products with full, in-depth reviews, but sometimes, I can at least give you photos and swatches, and then also provide a link to dupes and comparisons for those interested! This also helps us to build up our Swatch Gallery and add even more entries to The Dupe List, which can be helpful to readers at any point. MAC’s permanent range of eyeshadows seemed like a good place to start (and they were due for an update, this time with photos and swatches)!
