The formula is supposed to have "16 hour" wear with a "matte" finish that isn't "flat" and leaves lips "feeling comfortable." The lipstick was very pigmented, and the texture, while delivering a matte finish, felt smooth, velvety, and comfortable to apply as the lipstick glided across my lips without tugging at all.

I was impressed by how even and forgiving the finish was, though, as often silicone-heavy matte lipsticks can pill or emphasize lip texture (dimethicone is the first ingredient in this formula). It was fairly transfer-resistant, though it did break down more readily as soon as one ate a meal, so it tended to last as long as the time between application and one's next meal.

So, as a result, the only downside was that it was not a product that--realistically--lasted 16 hours, which I'd consider needing to make it past at least one meal well enough to endure until the next meal... at least.

There was a sweet, slightly powdery floral scent but no discernible taste. I did feel like the scent was more subdued than L'Oreal's scent typically is.
