Estee Lauder Burgundy Suede Double Wear Stay-in-Place Eye Pencil ($23.00 for 0.04 oz.) is a darkened burgundy purple with warm undertones and subtle pearly shimmer. It has a very waxy base, so while it glides across the skin without tugging, the color payoff in a single stroke is semi-sheer. It was buildable to mostly opaque color, and while I love the color but don’t find the formula to be particularly long-wearing as it thins after seven hours of wear. MAC Nightshade (LE, $16.00) is similar. Urban Decay Darkside (P, $19.00) is darker. MAC Strong Willed (P, $20.00) is cooler-toned. Estee Lauder Electric Cobalt Double Wear Stay-in-Place Eye Pencil ($23.00 for 0.04 oz.) is a brightened, medium blue with a pearly sheen. It had semi-sheer pigmentation in a single pass, which was buildable to opaque color in two to three layers. It had the same waxy, glide-on texture that made it comfortable to apply but just not an intensely pigmented product. It wore well for seven hours before migrating towards the outer corner. Kat Von D D.R.A. (P, $10.00) is warmer. Tarina Tarantino Glamorous Thief (P, $15.00) is very similar. Urban Decay Radium (P, $19.00) is very similar. Urban Decay Abyss (P, $19.00) is slightly warmer. Estee Lauder Emerald Volt Double Wear Stay-in-Place Eye Pencil ($23.00 for 0.04 oz.) is a darkened green-teal with a pearly sheen. It had mostly opaque pigmentation in one pass, and the texture was better balanced between creamy and waxy, so it glided on, deposited even, rich color, and didn’t run. The color lasted for eight hours on me. Sephora Collection Good Mood (P, $9.00) is greener. Make Up For Ever #52L (LE, $19.00) is lighter. MAC Blue Noon (LE, $16.00) is lighter.
