Charlotte Tilbury Copper Charge Colour Magic Liner Duo ($30.00 for 0.03 oz.) is a double-sided pencil eyeliner (that requires sharpening) with a lighter, more metallic shade and a deeper, matte shade. Both shades had good pigmentation in a single stroke, were easy to use, and were longer-wearing. The matte shade has a slightly firmer consistency compared to the metallic shade, though neither tugged or were uncomfortable to use.

Copper Charge (Metallic)

Copper Charge (Metallic) is a light, golden copper with strong, warm undertones and a metallic finish. The pigmentation was nearly opaque in a single pass, while the consistency was smooth, velvety, and comfortable to work with on my lower lash line as it didn’t tug. It deposited even color without having to go back over any areas. It wore well for 11 hours before it started to fade and thin a bit, though there was still 50-60% left at the 16-hour mark.

Formula Overview

The formula is supposed to "stay-all day" (specifically listed as "up to 16 hours") that "glide" on and is "smudge-proof, waterproof & humidity proof." The majority of the shades had semi-opaque to opaque, buildable coverage that was easy enough to achieve, and if one applied in shorter, overlapping strokes, they looked full coverage applied.

The texture of the mattes felt a bit firmer, and while I didn't have issues with the tip snapping off when I used it as an actual eyeliner (on my lower lash line), I did have two of four shades snap when I went to swatch them on my arm. The matte shades tended to last a little longer with solid 10 to 12 hour wear that had 50% or greater color visible at the 16-hour mark. There was minimal migration/movement around my outer corner after 12 to 14 hours.

The metallic shades had slightly more glide, so they were more smudgeable, but they didn't feel overly slippery and stayed in place well. I felt like they had a similar wear time of 10 to 12 hours of good wear with 50% or greater color still apparent after 16 hours of wear. There was less movement/migration to the outer corners over time with the metallics after 16 hours of wear compared to the matte shades.

Copper Charge (Matte)

Copper Charge (Matte) is a deep, rusty brown with warm, red undertones and a matte finish. It had nearly opaque color payoff in a single stroke, which applied fairly evenly and fluidly across my lash line as it didn’t tug. The texture had light slip, so it didn’t feel “wet” or traditionally creamy but wasn’t stiff to work with.

It deposited very quick-setting color that didn’t smudge readily, which translated to longer-wear. The majority of the product was still in good condition after 12 hours of wear with minimal migration to the very outer corner of my lash line, and I’d gauge the remaining color at the 16-hour mark at 60-70%–visible but definitely not as thick of a line and less intense.
