Chanel Melted Honey Rouge Coco Gloss ($30.00 for 0.19 fl. oz.) is a light gold with light gold and medium gold pearl. The base color of the gloss had semi-sheer coverage that lightened and warmed up my natural lip color. For such a light shade, it actually applied rather evenly and had just a smidgen of settling on my lower lip. The texture was smooth, comfortable to wear, and hydrating with just a touch of tackiness. It lasted for three hours on me.

The formula is supposed to have “intense shine, hydration” with a “gel-like texture” with shades that vary from “sheer to opaque” in coverage. The consistency has a smooth, lightweight texture that can feel more like a gel-like texture with some of the sheerer shades and more like a cream and gel hybrid with more opaque shades. It’s a formula that’s comfortable to wear with light tackiness that lasts anywhere from two to four hours and is hydrating over time. There was a strong, mirror-like shine across the shades that was very reminiscent of the prior Glossimer formula. There was a faint floral scent, and with some shades, I got a subtle taste of perfume. The doe foot applicator was more unique (at least, to me) with a very curved edge that was great for my bottom lip while flipping it gave me a more paddle-shaped edge that worked better for my top lip. I would love to see Chanel introduce color descriptions on their retail website, especially for a formula like this where there can be such a huge difference in pigmentation (and finish) from one shade to the next that isn’t obvious from a product photo.

Noce Moscata

Chanel Noce Moscata Rouge Coco Gloss ($30.00 for 0.19 fl. oz.) is a medium, very warm-toned pink with fine beige and gold pearl. It had medium coverage that went on evenly and had minimal color that settled into lip lines. It seemed particularly hard to notice from a normal viewing distance as the color was closer to my natural lip color. The consistency felt smooth, just a touch sticky but not heavy or thick. This shade wore well for three hours and was moisturizing.

Caresse

Chanel Caresse Rouge Coco Gloss ($30.00 for 0.19 fl. oz.) is a medium brown with warm, yellowish undertones and a cream finish. This was one of the few shades I tried that had no shimmer. The consistency was smoother but less gel-like–it didn’t have quite the same cushion-like feel of other shades. It had nearly opaque coverage, but there was noticeable color that had gathered in my lip lines. The gloss wore nicely for four hours and was hydrating.
