Chanel La Petillante (49) Rouge Allure Velvet ($36.00 for 0.12 oz.) is described as a “coral red.” It’s a brightened, pink-red that has a very slight warmth to it and a satin-matte finish. It was nearly opaque applied to lips with a lightweight, velvety texture that was fairly thin but was comfortable to wear and applied well. It lasted for six hours on me and was neither drying nor hydrating. MAC Carmine Rouge (LE, $30.00) is redder. Lipstick Queen Have Paris (P, $50.00) is warmer. MAC La Vie En Rouge (LE, $16.00) is more matte. Bobbi Brown Watermelon (P, $26.00) is lighter. NARS Grace (P, $32.00) is lighter. Kat Von D Bachelorette (P, $21.00) is more matte, pinker. It had mostly full color coverage that went on evenly and smoothly. The color wore well for six hours and left a stain behind. It was very slightly drying towards the end for me.
