For spring, Chanel’s released two new shades of the Chanel Rouge Coco Lip Colors ($35.00 for 0.12 oz.) formula. If you’re unfamiliar with this formula, it’s supposed to be “intense, long-wearing colour with full coverage and a satin finish.”

Chanel Conquise (144) Rouge Allure Lip Colour ($35.00 for 0.12 oz.) is softly muted, medium orange with a hint of rosiness and a soft shimmer. It had rich, opaque color coverage that didn’t look heavy and felt lightweight. It applied well and laid down even, smooth color. This shade wore well for four hours on me, and it was lightly moisturizing during that time. Tom Ford Beauty Sweet Spot (05) (LE, $49.00) is slightly darker. MAC Gotta Dash! (P, $17.00) is lighter. Chanel Rayonnante (145) Rouge Allure Lip Colour ($35.00 for 0.12 oz.) is brightened, pinky-plum with cool undertones and a luminous finish. It had semi-opaque pigmentation, so it didn’t deliver the “full coverage” as promised. The texture was lightly creamy with some slip, and it felt lightweight and comfortable to wear. It was lightly hydrating, and it lasted for four hours on me. Chanel Fougueuse (138) (P, $34.00) is brighter, pinker. Revlon Plum Velour (P, $7.99) is darker.
