Chanel Amorosa (487) Rouge Coco Shine ($36.00 for 0.10 oz.) is a muted, medium brown with warm, reddish tones and a fine gold shimmer. Tom Ford Beauty Rose Soleil (P, $50.00) is more shimmery. Bite Beauty Moka (P, $28.00) is more opaque, lighter, less shimmery. Tom Ford Beauty Blake (LE, $32.00) is darker, cooler-toned. Guerlain Air Kiss (304) (P, $37.00) is cooler-toned. I typically find Rouge Coco Shines to actually be drying, when it’s supposed to be a hydrating formulation with sheerer color coverage (whereas the regular Rouge Cocos have more coverage and less shine and the Rouge Allures have even more coverage and a more satin-like finish). In promos, this looked more like a taupe, and long-time readers will know that I love more unusual colors, and this one is limited edition (the other three shades in the collection are not), I figured I’d try it. It’s by no means taupe, and it behaved much like Rouge Coco Shines have in the past–two and a half hour wear and slightly drying over time. The texture is balm-like, lightweight, and glides on well, and the coverage is more semi-sheer with this particular shade, though I’d expect if you have more color in your natural lips, it’ll be hard to tell either way.
