Becca Ocean Glow Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed ($38.00 for 0.25 oz.) is a soft, rosy copper with warm undertones and cool, bluish-aqua shimmer that gives it a more metallic sheen on the skin. I would describe the individual shades as: a deeper, rosy copper, cool, icy aqua, and a medium brown with warm, yellow undertones and a barley-there golden sheen. The two highlighters were soft, blendable, and yielding, while the bronzer portion was firmer, stiffer, and much more difficult to get coverage from. When swirled altogether, I was able to get some of the bronzer with the highlighters which helped to add a little more depth.

Per the brand, it contains two new highlighter shades, Pink Sand and Pacific Blue, along with Bronzed Bondi (a existing shade of Sunlit Bronzer). I hope they’ll consider releasing the highlighters individually down the line, as they’re really not that usable as standalone shades. The easiest one to use with a very faint touch and tapered, highlighting brush is Pink Sand (the rosy portion), as the wave (Pacific Blue) and surfboard (Bronzed Bondi) are difficult to separate out unless we start using small eyeshadows (not even medium eye brushes!).

As a whole, the powder had good pigmentation that was buildable to full coverage with less than half of a layer more. The texture was soft and blendable, and it didn’t emphasize my skin’s natural texture when applied heavily to my cheeks. It wore well for eight hours on me before fading slightly.

Formula Overview

The Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed formula is described as having an "ultra-reflective shine" with a "creamy" texture that "applies seamlessly." In general, the texture of the highlighters is incredibly smooth, silky, and finely-milled with frosted to metallic finishes and the occasional more sparkly finish.

They tend to have a high-shine, more metallic finish and are a stronger highlighter, so they are going to be best suited to someone who likes an obvious highlight over a very subtle one. That being said, with a fan brush and a deft hand, one could certainly achieve a subtler, all-over luminosity as well, but if one takes a typical, tapered highlighting brush, there will be quite a bit of pigment and highlight on the skin.

I find that some shades can emphasize the look of pores slightly to moderately, depending on application. They tend to last between eight to nine hours on me.
