Ladies, let me tell you, YSL has truly created a remarkable spring collection (debuting February 2008). I had the opportunity to play and test out the Palette Pop, a face and cheek powder; Rouge Pure Shine lipstick in Pink Sorbet; and Pop Stick Blush (N2) in Strawberry/Raspberry. What did I love? Oh, what didn’t I love! Here are some swatches – top horizontal one is of Palette Pop, the bottom left is Pink Sorbet, and the bottom right is the Pop Stick Blush! (Psst, myfavorite is the Pop Stick Blush, I am swooning over it!)

Now, let us give you a detailed review of the three products we tried…

Palette Pop: Bring back the feelings of love with this darling powder palette embellished with two flowers and the word “love” in a 70s kind of touch. The background is a light, luminscent pale pink, while the pollen center of each flower and the lettering of “love” are in a glittery hot pink (though manageable hot pink, not fuschia!). I swirled these together in soft, sweeping motions to try it out, and we got a lovely shade of medium-pink with just a subtle hint of shimmer. This is absolutely perfect for spring, as it will flush you gently, and with the sheen of shimmer, it can keep skin looking semi-matte.

Pop Stick Blush in Strawberry/Raspberry: First, there are two other Pop Stick Blushes (Vanilla/Chocolate; Peach/Black Currant), but in all honesty, I think this is my favorite, and the one totally wearable by any. Strawberry is the light pink color, while Raspberry is the dark, shimmery berry-red you see. Surprisingly, they swirl together quite nicely during application, and it is such a creamy, silken texture. Honestly, I am not a huge fan of cream blushes, but I think YSL has converted me to a fan simply because of this product. I personally found this stayed well on my cheeks throughout the day, and I loved that it dried quickly after I was done blending it into my skin and cheeks. This is a fairly shimmery product, which will make cheeks look fresh, dewy, and faintly blushed. Love it!

Rouge Pure Shine in Pink Sorbet: I have to mention that for those unfamiliar with YSL packaging, you will adore their packaging for lipsticks, because they pop out in a delectable way, and you really feel like a queen playing with your goodies. I love the colored base of the lipstick itself, because this means I can keep it vertical and know the color simply by looking at it (rather than hoping the name and color description is stored in my memory). Just a neat twist on lipsticks and organization. What’s better? That the color of the plastic part is quite similar to the actual color of the lipstick product. This is a lovely warm, coral-pink, which really reminds me of spring and even summer. I like that it is a color I would feel comfortable wearing throughout spring, and it would make a great transition color as summer started approaching. The texture is divine–incredibly smooth and soft–and the color is sheer, buildable to give lips either a light pop of color or something deeper.
