Too Faced Apricot in the Act Fruit Cocktail Blush Duo ($30.00 for 0.22 oz.) contains a warm, gold highlighter and a darker, coral blush. The two shades layered well together to create a gold-shimmered coral hue on my cheeks. They were easy to use alone and had buildable coverage, as marketed, that stayed on well for eight hours.

Apricot in the Act (Highlighter) is a light-medium gold with strong, warm orange undertones and flecks of copper micro-sparkle. It had a medium, buildable color coverage that applied evenly to bare skin and blended out easily along the edges. While I saw glitter in the pan and in my initial swatch, it did not seem to translate on my cheeks as I did not detect any glitter from initial application (and so, there was no migration of glitter over time). The consistency was dense but not stiff, so the powder picked up well with a tapered highlighting brush. It did not emphasize my skin’s natural texture and lasted for eight hours on me.

Formula Overview

The formula is supposed to have "buildable payoff" that has a "soft-touch, silky" texture. The pigmentation ranged from medium to mostly opaque, so some shades were truly buildable and others had to be used with a lighter hand (or less dense brush) to achieve sheerer, buildable coverage. The consistency was smooth but firmer in the pan, but with a typical highlighting brush and a medium hand, I didn't struggle to pick up product, so it was more in the vein of "not powdery" rather than stiff. The powders blended out easily, sat well on my skin, and lasted for eight to nine hours on me.

Apricot in the Act (Blush) is a medium-dark coral with strong, warm undertones and a golden sheen. It had medium, buildable pigmentation (three layers for fully opaqque coverage) with a denser, slightly firm texture, though there was enough give that it picked up with a moderately dense blush brush without having to jab at it. The powder applied evenly and blended out with little effort, and the effect of the shimmer was subtle glow but no overt shimmer particles. It wore well for eight hours on me before it started to fade noticeably.
